The two positives make a negative and the two negatives make a positive?

NO. The two positives connect to the connectors and the connector has a positive connector out. The positive and negative do not change.

I have ten 12 v 100 watt 4.5 amp panels I need to set up in parallel that will put out 45 amps will these work

No. These are rated at 30 amps max. Why in the world would you want 45 amps instead of a higher voltage (series/parallel combo)? 45A will require 4/0 wire or larger from your array. It will have an insane voltage drop if you go with less for over a run of 8 feet or so. Re-engineer your design.

I have 2 Strings of 3x280w 40voc panels in series. Can I parallel the two strings using these branch connectors?

The connectors will work. Just be sure the input voltage and amperage is right for you application. Take the panel specs and equipment specs to a good solar installer or electrician if you aren’t sure.

After 2days use one of the male ends kinda like melted any ideas why ?

Slightly loose connection or too many amps.
