OSD Audio SMP200 Class D Digital Subwoofer Amplifier Rated 200W Max

It's a simple connect and play could not be any more simple. I hooked it up to a 10'' JBL Subwoofer and i am happy.

What other customers should know is that if you have a passive subwoofer and a quality AVR receiver and good front speakers as well as surround speakers and you want an amplifier to give you that boost in your base, this one is it. I have been looking for something to replace the desktop subwoofer amplifier that I have been using because it was just not quite adequate enough, until I ran across this one. Boy I wish I had found this much much sooner. But if you’re looking for something to do the job, you cannot go wrong using the OSD audio SMP 200 dedicated subwoofer.

This worked well for the last 16 months but now it goes crazy at random times making the speaker sound-off with a very loud low frequency blast of sound. It does the in the middle of the night, but never when its in use.

I like the internal power supply and the controls on the front. The auto on and off trigger works well. I have not tested it as a speaker amp, just a sub amp. I really have just one complaint. When in stand bye mode the LED changes from green (active) to red (stand bye). The LED is so bright, it is like a red laser pointer in the room. At night it makes the entire room glow. I will end up putting some electrical tape over it, but you can see from my photo with my finger completely covering the LED how it still glows red. I wish there was a way to disable it.

I used this amp on a new construction surround system. Very happy with the sound. I used the OSD 10 inch subwoofer.
