I just got a new iPhone 7 (update from iPhone 6s) and it has a great section on the iPhone 7 plus all the help anyone needs for previous iPhones. It is very easy to understand and includes humor to keep anyone from stressing over instructions - unlike the instructions from the iPhone tips where you have to flip back and forth to see the instructions and then try them out on the phone. And by the time you get from the instructions and flip back to the phone, you forget what the instructions said! So, the big advantage is that you can try out any of the instructions on the iPhone while, at the same time have the manual open to the right page to guide you. It's like having a very patient somebody sitting right next to you, helping to guide you with easy steps to follow. Review: THE BEST iPhone user's manual money can buy! Worth twice the price! - As usual, David Pogue's "The Missing Manual" series always delivers the best guidance in a clear and easy to understand manner. I am actually glad that a manufacturer's manual was not included in the product box because it would not have been nearly as helpful and comprehensive if it had been published by the manufacturer. When you buy a $400+ iPhone, another $20-25 for "The Missing Manual" is the best "accessory" money can buy. David's books answer virtually all of a user's questions and many more that were not asked or even thought about, but which provide additional insight and assistance that add tremendously to the value and function of an iPhone. I have all of "The Missing Manual" series written or co-written by David Pogue and will continue to add them to my library.

Best Of All iPhone Books, But Somewhat Cumbersome For Experienced Users
I loved David Pogue's Missing Manual book when I got my iPhone 4. It showed me a lot of discoveries I hadn't expected. I didn't have the same reaction to this one. Perhaps it's because after using the iPhone for several years, there were a lot fewer a-ha moments. But it also seemed extremely complex with reams of data and information. It may be time for Mr. Pogue to change up his format and divide the book into two sections: The basics for newcomers to the iPhone, and new info for those updating to the latest iPhone and/or software. The good news is that I discovered a few features that were helpful that I didn't know about. But it took me literally days of reading to discover them. I also challenge Mr. Pogue's narrative that the iPhone 7 Plus uses two cameras to optimize a zoom level between 1X and 2X. As I understand it as a professional photographer, only one camera is engaged at a time except during Portrait Mode. Further, I wish Mr. Pogue had discussed the fact that Apple regrettably just digitally 2X zooms their regular camera in low light even when you think you are getting the 2X native camera, and that the user can create their own workaround by using Portrait Mode even with PM not "working" to force the iPhone to use the 2X camera. That being said, I still recommend this book for 1) iPhone newbies; 2) those who can skim through quickly to find the parts of interest to them; or 3) those with a lot of time on their hands. Mr. Pogue is right -- this *is* the book that should have been in the box, and no one has a better writing style to impart a ton of information. And even I, a pretty well-versed iPhone user, discovered some new tips. As such, I give it five stars.

To get the most of device, this is the Best Book for Advice
You don't know what you are Missing, Till you get the Missing Manual. No Genie in any lamp, Could so much information in a book cramp. So much features are packed in the iPhone; Only with this manual can you, your skills hone. You can save a lot of hissing and cursing, When you get the Manual you are Missing. If you want to get the most of this device, Then this is the book to look for advice. P.S. I've been a fan of David's books since 1999 when I bought the Palm V. The advice that I got from his book on the Palm devices helped me discover everything I never knew this device was capable of, and make the most of it - just like this book helped me with my iPhone SE! Well written always, and once I read his book I never looked elsewhere. So when I got the Mac with Snow Leopard,I knew where to get advice. East or West, he's the Best!

THIS IS THE MANUAL TO BUY.
This is a great book! Very informative, filled with facts that every iPhone owner should know and written with lots of humor where appropriate. I have enjoyed reading it and have gained a tremendous amount of iPhone knowledge that I had no idea I was lacking. The author, David Pogue did a wonderful job making an instruction manual entertaining to read.

Poor construction of the book itself, information excellent as usual by this author.
I barely started reading this book when the spine cracked about in the middle of the book. Some of the pages in this area could easily come out. I am really disappointed in the quality of the book. I am going to see if it can be replaced even though I have done some highlighting in it

This book is easy to read and taught me more things about my new phone than I knew existed!
The book is easy to read and helped me learn to use my new phone. I went from a flip phone, so I didn't know anything about my new phone. It is organized efficiently, with the main phone uses in the first part of the book. I am on page 151 (I'm reading it from cover to cover.) The book is over 600 pages. I learned to use the basic functions in the first few chapters. Now I'm learning how much more the phone can do!
