Excellent On-Ear Headphones, Great Value
Summary: The Marshal IV headphones are high quality headphones with an amazing battery life and great aesthetic providing a steal at $73. Despite some small drawbacks these headphones are of great value and quality that I absolutely recommend getting. THE GOOD 1.Sound: The Marshal IVs provide clear mids and highs with deep bass, suitable for all genres of music. I listen to a lot of rap, R&B, and rock and the sound quality of these headphones absolutely blew me away. The volume these headphones can reach is very high making them perfect for noisy environments like the gym and public transportation. As someone who likes to listen to loud music, I don’t turn the volume to max on these headphones which is a first for all the headphones I have ever owned. 2.Battery Life: The advertised 80+ hours of listening is true. I only charge these headphones once every other week and I use these headphones for everything, going to the gym, while I'm cooking, and watching shows and movies on my tablet. 3.Aesthetic: The square faux leather with the iconic Marshal logo in the middle is a great look that was what initially caught my eye when browsing for headphones. I was pleased to find out that not only are they stylish but have the quality to back it up. 4. Comfort: I have always been a diehard over-ear loyalist as I find on-ear headphones to be uncomfortable. I took a risk with these headphones and was surprised at how comfortable these are, wearing them for hours at a time with no discomfort. THE NOT SO GOOD 1.Control Knob: While I do like the idea of the control knob being simple, stylish, and one tactile analog control for everything you would need. I found that when turning the headphones on/off to not be very easy to use often taking me multiple attempts to do so. 2. App: Unfortunately, the Marshal IVs are not compatible with the Marshal app used to customize the headphones audio to your taste and after some research I do not believe there are any intentions to add these headphones to it.

Trust me and Buy them.
These are genuinely the best over ear headphones I've ever bought. I haven't wrote a review yet because I said to myself when I first got them, I'd write a review when they start to mess up or if I ever sent them back. Now's the time. I've had these for a little over 2 years now. They're still going strong. IN SHORT - Best overall headphones for heavy music enjoyers or everything else, the best battery life I've ever seen, best bass and clear tones, especially for how light weight and small they are. Very aesthetic and look good with any outfit. I love them so much and almost never take them off, my dad calls them my ears because of how much I wear them. Best investment, BUY THEM!! I listen to all types of music; rock, heavy metal, rap, hip-hop, r&b, pop, indie etc. etc.. these are overall amazing for every genre. Personally, they are the best for r&b and rock/metal. They have 10/10 bass for how small and light weight they are. Clear sound and not muffled, clear mid tones and the left to right sound is great. These things really pack some power. They can get really, really loud. I never turn the volume all the way up because when they are, they're nearly as loud as a phone speaker. Battery life is a 1298439/10. These last FOREVER. I wear them almost 8+ hours a day all through my school day. I have only ever had them die on me 5 times in the 2 years I've had them. I honestly think they can last over 80+ hours if you have the volume turned down. I charge them about once a week but, I could go almost 2 full weeks without needing a charge while on mid to high volume. Charging is easy. The 15 minute charge for 15 hours is a real thing and great for when I forget to charge them and need to run out the door in a time crunch. I can't harp on how amazing the battery life is though. They also have a wireless charge feature I've only used twice. I don't really know if it charges any faster or slower using one but it does work to some extent. SUPER STURDY. I drop these A LOT. I wear them while roller blading, skating and going to the gym and they've fallen off when I fall and dropped off my head. They've never broke in any physical way and have no real connection issues from it. I think there okay for gym or active use because of how much padding is around your ears so no moisture gets into the speaker or any of the sensitive parts. Controls are easy with the joystick. I actually wear mine backwards (I explain why further down) and found the controls to be easy to understand. The 'joystick' like control is really cool and I find better than touch control. You don't have to press too hard to change to the next or previous or control volume. I find on touch controlled headphones they get pressed accidently constantly, while this one has never changed anything out of its own accord. Also with controls is the light indicator. When charging: Red is nearly dead, Yellow is mid battery and Green is near fully charged or fully charged. When they are first turned on a sound plays to let you know and there is a flashing white light until paired. To put them in paring mode: hold down the power on position on the joystick until another sound plays and a flashing blue light comes on, then you can pair with Bluetooth. From there a solid white light stays on to show they are paired and on. A negative I have about these is the comfort. I have a mid sized head and ears and I found these uncomfortable for even 30 minutes wearing them the right way. (right side on right ear, left ear on left ear) So, I tried them on backwards and found that to be a better solution. I don't know how to explain it the best but they seem to be built at an angle that I assume was supposed to be formed to a normal head shape. I find it puts pressure on the back of my ears. I find it more comfortable to wear them backwards. Only thing with that is the control joystick is backwards (left is next and right is the previous, up is volume down and down is volume up) but these were easy for me to get used to. Other than that I wear these 8+ hours almost everyday. Naturally with over ear headphones some ear fatigue will occur but with how committed I am to these it's never been a real bother. The only other downside I've ever had was that they've stalled on me. It's happened about 3 to 5 times in the 2 years I've had them, but I'll be playing a song, they'll freeze, make a really loud sound and cut off completely. I don't understand why this happens because I've just been using them like normal but after they cut off, I turn them back on and they pair and work like normal. It could be from dropping them or something similar but this didn't start until around a year and a half of constant use. To summarize again. Really really good value for money. I had been looking for over ear headphones for the longest and found a review on these and bought them on sale for $100 but I would pay full price for these any day. My dad is from the 70s and loves his extra loud, bassy music. He bought these and, while he opted for the Skullcandy Crushers, he said these had amazing bass for how small they are, they just weren't suited for his everyday work. Knowing him, If he complemented them on bass, you know these are actually amazing for rather normal people. These are great and I hope you give them a try. Thank you Marshall for the amazing quality and real joy these have brought me!

Great Purchase
If you’re looking for an alternative cheaper but great quality headphones get this one. I actually had this for 4 years now, and it is still long lasting and still delivers best sound quality. It’s very user friendly, easy to connect to bluetooth, as well as using the wired cable that makes you connect to devices. Battery Life is a solid 10! Went on a10hr flight and used it the entire flight and it didn’t disappoint, battery was still kickin even after we landed. It’s also light weight, not heavy on the neck at all. The only downside is when I got mine it didn’t came with a case for safe keeping, would been perfect but I had to buy a separate case for it.

These are my everyday Headphones
I really like these headphones. They have easily become my everyday headphones. Here's why: Battery Life: The battery life on these puppies is insane. 80 hours! I can go weeks without recharging, and I use them for a couple of hours everyday. These are the longest lasting headphones I've ever had. Looks: They headphones don't look like all the other plasticky headphones out there. The leather (although maybe it's fake leather) and the retro styling on the cans all come together to produce a unique and cool aesthetic. Sound: The sound quality is very, very good, although if you're a true audiophile, they will probably not satisfy you. Also these headphones lack support for for AptX or AAC. However the whole point of support for those codecs is to provide superior sound, and these headphones provide great sound without it, so I guess who cares. Right? The sound mix features a very punchy bass, which I like. It is very clear and a great mix. You can hear all the details. If what you primarily listen to is Rock, R&B and Blues you will like the sound mix here. There is somewhat of a soundstage effect, but not as wide as some of the more audiophile type headphones that cost three times the price. I have listened to the $300 Sony headphones and I like the sound on these Marshall's way more. Portability: These headphones are small. Seriously, you will be surprised how small they are. They also fold up really nicely. I can easily fit them into my coat pocket. They do not come with a carry case, although I never really uses those anyway. Comfort: These are very comfortable. They are very light and do not make you feel like you have extra weight on your head. The padding on the ear cups is soft. Be aware that these are on-ear headphones, not over-ear. This means that the padding sits on your ears instead of going around them. Some people might find this uncomfortable, but I do not. Also as someone who wears glasses, I prefer on-ear to around-ear because the over-ear ones tend to put pressure on my glasses ear pieces. There is just enough clamping pressure to make me feel safe that the headphones won't slip off, but not enough to give me a headache. Obviously a lot of how comfortable a pair of headphones are depends on your headsize and shape. I have kind of a medium size head, and these are great for me. I can easily wear them for 2 hours without feeling uncomfortable. That being said there were one or two time where I was wearing them for 4-5 hours where they definitely did get a little uncomfortable so if you are going to wear them all day long, that might be a problem. But I would think that 2 hours of comfortable wearing will cover more than 90% of situations. Controls: These headphones have a unique joystick-style control for volume, ffd/rew and on/off. One joystick button for everything. I was apprehensive about it at first, but now I love it. No feeling around for various buttons and trying to make sure you have the right one. I kind of wish that other brands adopted this joystick model. My only complaint on the controls is that you have to push and do a long hold (3-4 seconds) to turn it off and on and sometimes it doesn't register if yu don't have it in the exact right position and you have to do it a couple of times. A minor complaint, but I honestly have so little to complain about on the headphones that I feel like I must mention it. Noise cancellation: There is no active noise cancellation (ANC) on these headphones. That's probably one reason why they were able to get the battery life so long. Also, since they are on-ear and not over-ear headphones, the passive noise cancellation is not as much either. There is definitely some passive noise cancellation, but not tons. This doesn't bother me. Since I mostly wear them on my commute, I want to be able to hear when there is a subway announcement about route changes and when a car in the street is honking at me or a fire engine is going by. But if you are planning on mostly using these to block out noise on an airplane, you probably want something with better noise cancellation. I have worn these on a plane and I could hear fine, but I had to turn the volume pretty high up. Build Quality: These headphones feel really nice and are definitely a quality product. The cans are connected to the headband via thin metal clips that fold in. I am a little concerned about the durability of this component since it at a joint and it is so thin. I have had these for a couple of months and not had a problem, but I suspect that if I do have a problem, these metal clips are where it will be. Hopefully it's more durable than it looks. Cords: These come with a USB C cord for charging and 3.5 mm jack coiled cord for connecting directly to your audio source. A nice feature is you can also use the 3.5 mm cord for connecting to another pair of headphones and sharing your sound. Mic: I have used these for several phone calls and zoom meetings and have never had any complaints about anyone hearing me. Competition: If you are looking for an on-ear Bluetooth headphone without AAC, these are hard to beat. I also have the Jabra 45's which are also very good, but I prefer these because they fold up, don't slip off my head, have the option for using 3.5 mm cord, and have a slightly more punchy bass mix. The only other options in this category are the JBL 500BT which I understand have great sound and are much cheaper but get alot of complaints for being uncomfortable. Or the Beats solo 3, which I generally feel like are overpriced and not worth it. To sum up - get these headphones. You won't regret it.

Decent sound, great battery life, great build quality, strange notification noises
Overall I'm very happy with these headphones. They are light and well built, the battery life is super long and as advertised, and they are comfortable (but perhaps a looser on my head than I prefer). They look nice and aren't too flashy. Audio quality is good enough for a portable pair of headphones. Warm sound, a little bass biased. A lot of the reviews here praise the audio quality, but I think it's just good enough for the price point especially keeping in mind the build quality, portability, and battery life these provide. For reference, at my desk I use a pair of Sony MDR-7506's which are a huge step above these headphones. Last thing to note, since I haven't seen it in any reviews. Every sound the headphones make (startup, shutdown, play, pause, forward, backward) is a variation of an electric guitar noise. This fits with Marshall's brand image, but it's a pretty cheesy and I think I prefer the beeps a normal pair of headphones make. These headphones fit the bill for a portable everyday use headphone, with the lightness, battery life, and build quality, that's why I bought them. Feels weird to have the 'rocker' branding forced on me when 70% of my usage is audiobooks or podcasts. May be annoying to some people. Overall I really recommend these headphones if you can find them in stock. These headphones are developed/produced by Zound Industries if you want to look at similar headphones with different branding

These would be phenomenal if they had ANC
These are my new favorite headphones. I have AirPodMax headphones as well and these could never replace them entirely for the simple reason that there is no ANC. I love ANC, not even so much for noise cancellation (though that is also stellar) but because I like to sing and the Transparency mode pipes your voice into the ear cups at about the same level as the song you're listening to and it is AMAZING. When I am cleaning my house I am also harmonizing with all my favorite Swedish pop stars so...I mean...I'm never giving that up. But, that said, the sound on these is so much brighter. I am definitely hearing details I don't hear on my APM and I thought those were a phenomenal jump forward from what I was using. (wired apple headphones and the original AirPods) I listened to as many styles of music as I could tonight. (which granted was like different Swedish pop artists, post punk, some new metal, jazz, classic rock and - I confess - some broadway.) These out performed the APM each time. There was often a distant difference in the sound but each time, after listening through the track on both I preferred these each time. I also have a Marshall speaker (the Stockwell II) and I love the sound on there as well, which is what prompted me to give these a try and I do not regret it. And 80 hours of battery life? 80? I have been listening for a solid LOUD 7 hours and the battery meter on my iPhone appears nearly entirely full so I believe it. I should also add these do go quite loud. I have them about half way for what I consider loud listening. The on ear cups are fine. I did take off my ear cuff earring but they aren't bothering my other piercings and my dangly earring. The headband is fine, I love how small they collapse. (I am used to the horror that is the AMP and their bra case) They came with a jack cable and a usb-usb charging cable. I know Marshall does make a ANC over the ear headphone but I can't justify the expense when I have the APM. I would wager they are better sounding though if they carry this sound profile there. but the major iv are ABSOLUTELY worth it. at like 1/4 the price of the APM I wish I had these sooner.
