How can I remove the restrictor?

The handle has a restrictor , blue with a white cross and pops right out with a fine needle nose. What is left is a spring loaded one way check valve that is there to keep you from sucking tub water back into your water system if the shower head is left submerged in the bath water. I don't know if the check is removable and did not try, it should be left in. The magnetic head has a black washer with integrated mesh screen, which I was able to remove, my water does not have any sediment that I know of. These mods made a huge difference and the spray is a lot more powerful.

Is there a restrictor that can be removed?

After taking out the white and black ring, I used a tiny screw driver to basically pop the plastic “spokes” in the first restrictor. Once I broke enough of them, it came out easily. The remaining restrictors just fell out. Makes night and day difference in the shower head pressure.

Would a 4" shower arm (pipe coming out of the wall) be adequate or does it need to be 6"?

Yes! I have 4" shower arms in both my baths that were installed during a total house repipe, so I'm assuming that's what is being installed nowadays. Both baths have different hand-held shower heads and have no problems.

Does it have a push button to change the flow?

The similar model 26112 has the button and is larger: 5.5"
