This saw has all the torque that you will need. It fits nicely in the hand. It is a bit heavy for one handed use but not impossible in a pinch. I used it to cut up an old trampoline. Went thru 5 blades on this sucker but the saw never slowed down. It does good on the batteries. Will burn thru them faster than the drill but still does well. Highly recommend. Also it is about $60 cheaper on here than at Lowe's.

I have a long line of Dewalt tools. This is a work horse to cut down tough juniper trees. Between chainsaw and reciprocating saw I could manage to cut down several trees to make room for landscaping. I have to pace myself when I use vibrating tool like this one to give rest to joints. The only improvement I would like to see is locking (with an easy unlocking) the trigger switch in ON position so I don't have to be holding the switch while cutting

Hands down.. The best reciprocal saw you can buy! If you want the best rated reciprocal saw, go ahead and spend the money, especially if your going to be using this tool a lot. Keep in mind the cost of batteries. Easier to pay for a set of good tires than this . I cut many small trees and this is top! Is heavy and your going to need Atleast 8 amp batteries. 12 amp is best just give saw a break and keep eye on your batteries. Generic batteries are ok if from a good company just don’t let them get hot.

This review is for the DEWALT 20V MAX XR DEWALT 20V MAX XR Cordless Reciprocating Saw. Frankly, this is an extremely handy tool. The fact that it is cordless makes it much handier to use for quick jobs. It also seems to have about the same amount of power as my 20 year old Milwaukee SawZaw. If the saw foot isn't braced against the material tightly it will vibrate fairly severely, but this is no different than the corded Milwaukee. With a 6AH battery, the saw is well balanced and easy to handle. The battery life seems reasonable to me. All of my uses have been for moderate use during a day (cutting a few limbs or roots when digging and for building teardown). I'm sure a single battery wouldn't last for more than a few hours of heavy use. Blade changes are very easy. Overall, the saw is well built, easy to use, and I find myself reaching for it fairly often for quick jobs. Note that this is NOT a circular saw or a jig saw and will not produce cuts as nice or straight as those saws.
