Soldering Practice Kit Learning Electronics Training Board

This was a fun little kit to practice soldering on PCB. Very straight forward design with nothing too complicated. Just make sure you read the little pamphlet and test your resistors before placing them. And use the slimmest solder you can. I used Kester 24-6337 No Clean 63/37 at 0.031" diameter. Worked perfectly. I've solder many instrument/XLR cables before doing this, so I had some idea about how to solder, but this PCB is a completely different animal. I'd recommend this and then find another kit that's more complicated before you attempt a serious build. For me, it's going to be a 1176 audio compressor. This was my first kit to start. This was a fun one! A great way to experiment with resistors.

Not a 5 because no full instructions come with it. Just a color code sheet for the resistors however once you know the formula for reading the resistors and figuring out the ohms for each it’s a fun build. Regardless if you are novice or advanced to soldering and circuits it’s a great little kit to practice on especially for the price. Not the biggest in size but it works. Once I got mine soldered up even after thinking I burned a part of the board I turned it on and it displayed properly all switches worked.

So it’s a no frills kit and gets the job done. However i do have a few issues. one is as others have pointed out no instructions other then the card that shows a picture of the board however its upside down. took me a minute to figure this out so i just totally ignored the card. also its probably the cheapest paper i’ve ever seen and i dont know did they use finger paint? the colors of the bands on the resistors aren’t anywhere close to what they should be.
