Although it comes as far partition you can can format easily. Speed seems to double versus previous expansion of 14 terabytes. It still looses 2 T. So you buy 16 and get 14 T .

Works great!! Was an amazing deal compared to others I saw. It will hold a ton and a few more ton of pics!! It’s fast, reliable and I love that it’s light enough to take with you if needed!!

Takes longer than other drives I have to load data and it is noisy, but other than that it’s doing the job of archiving my thousands of photos.

Every factory has a defective ratio - maybe I just happened to be in the low percentile. I have been collecting media and movies for almost 30 years and find my storage demands have increased, thus I purchased this item. Cons: It's noisy. Sounds like its choking when active. Lots of noise. Transfer speeds are 12.0MB/5.0MB on USB 3.0 or less. Took a dump not more than a year after using it. Thank God I have redundancy with another back-up drive (another SEAGATE - 12TB) and will be able to transfer 9TB of info to the newest drive. I'll report next year when it finally finishes transferring to this new drive. Gonna take awhile. Pros: I've never had an issue with Seagate before. I'm chalking this incident up to their small defective ratio out of factory. Less than 3 percent. Another PRO - good luck trying to find this storage room you need at the cost. But I always recommend back-up, redundancy. Don't ever depend on one peripheral. I'll give it one more chance - I'll be back if Deja Vu continues. Heed my warnings thus far. Maybe another brand like WD would suit you better.

Nice amount of storage for the money. Not portable at all in the sense of being able to carry and to plug into a laptop (you'll need the external power supply). Not the fastest access speeds but for archiving over the midterm, it is decent.

Mis discos de 4 y 6 tb ya los tenía llenos, necesitaba algo más masivo para almacenar mis archivos multimedia, al igual que mi hdd de mi pc y laptop, este de 16 tb es increíble, hace un poco de ruido pero nada grabe, tiene una gran velocidad de escritura para ser mecánico, y el precio fue lo mejor, lo conseguí por casi 7k pesos mexicanos en una oferta, altamente recomendable!

It's a bog standard HDD drive, it's being used to back up a NAS. Perfect for my use case. Seagate are my go to, I've being using them for over two decades and I've yet to a have a failure.
