Sani-Cast Orthopedic Cast Cleansing Kit

I had a cast for about a month. I work with children so I sewed a cover for my cast to both keep the cast clean and to not scratch or scare children. Because of that my arm/hand would get pretty sweaty. Nothing was better than using this kit to clean under my cast, my arm never got smelly, and all of the skin that could be reached by the cleansing cloth was clean and not as gross as a normal arm in a cast. I have a lot of allergies, but this kit didn’t bother my skin. The only downfall is that there are no Ingredients listed...which was concerning but I decided from the amount of positive reviews that it was worth a try to help to preserve my sanity! Cast hint: use a vacuum to cool down your arm or to dry out the cast from any sweat or condensation from showering. It feels amazing and helps for sure! Especially when pairing the vacuum help with the help of this kit, my arm stayed fresh and my skin faired well.

Awesome product. 6 year old son broke his elbow. Was in a waterproof cast with the arm at an angle for 4 weeks. Doctor said you could run water through to clean it but we found that itched a ton while drying. This worked amazingly. We used it 1-2 times a day. Never broke. Pad never even threatened to come off. He didn’t complain about itching, and when the cast came off the inside of his elbow (which they said would be red and inflamed) was clean and normal skin color. This is expensive for what it looks like, but I would buy it again in a heartbeat if anyone in the family is in a cast again! We went through the pads and one refill in about 3.5 weeks.

I ordered this a week into having my leg cast. Helped so much with the itch and really cleaned my skin. I expected my cast to smell at least a little bit when I got it cut off, but it did not! It smelled like the cleansing pads. Very clean and kind of like soap or baby powder. It was a soft scent. My skin was a bit dry, but that was so much better than mold or excessive moisture!! I highly recommend this product primarily for itch relief and for that clean feeling. I wasn't sure how good of a job it did until I saw my leg when the cast came off. It comes with a tube of cleansing pads. Those lasted about a month with daily/every other day cleaning. The kit I bought came with two velcro (stick) scratchers which is awesome! If you have a cast longer than 4 weeks, I recommend ordering the extra pads.

Since I knew I was going to be In a cast for 6 weeks I bought this product. The last time I had surgery and was in a cast I used a coat hanger to relieve the itch. When I came across this product I bought it based on good reviews. I used this a few weeks before I was gonna get my cast removed and yes it works and relieves the itching. It’s a bit over priced in my opinion. The wands are pretty flimsy. But you won’t regret buying it because the worst itch is when your stuck in a cast and all you want to do is stick something in there and itch. I waited after my stitches were removed and gave my body a bit of time to heal before I stuck the rod in there to relieve the itching near the stitches. I didn’t want to risk getting an infection.

I found this product after being in a leg cast for two weeks (right when things were starting to get itchy/annoying) and knew that another 3 weeks was going to drive me insane if I couldn't find some way to deal with the lack of hygiene caused by a cast and the subsequent itching and smell. This comes with 2 handles and 36 cleaning pads. I had also ordered a refill of the pads, but ended up not needing it before the cast came off. I never had an issue with a pad falling off the handle inside my cast and was never concerned that the handle was going to break. I used about 4 pads each time I cleaned, changing pads whenever it felt like one had dried up. And even without the cleansing pad on the handle, this thing makes a great scratcher thanks to the velcro. I didn't use it every day, just as I felt the need because of itching or if I'd gotten sweaty--probably averaged 3-4 days between uses. I was able to reach pretty much everything inside the cast, and when the cast came off, the skin on my leg looked normal other than a couple small patches right under the ankle bone on both sides that were more difficult to get to--those looked a little splotchy red. The person taking my cast off said I had one of the cleanest casts she'd seen and commented on the fact that I didn't have dead skin all over my leg. I never felt like my cast really got smelly--the cleansing pads left a baby-powder scent to help with that.

If you have a leg cast on get this. I wish someone would’ve told me about this on my first foot cast. When I had surgery on my other foot I ordered this on a whim and it saved me my sanity and my sleep! The first foot cast I had gave me the tickle itch torture and I would be kept up for hours jolting at the feeling and go insane not being able to do something about it. This product is so simple and they really need to sell these in Walgreens or something. My skin in my calf that was covered by the cast was considerably less gross than the other calf when I had surgery on the first foot. I didn’t use it on the bottom foot part as I had tons of stitches but it did help immensely on my leg which was the itchiest part anyways

Wayyyyyy overpriced. Smells strong but it does work. Just a piece of flimsy plastic with velcro and a wet pad. But if does help with itching.

I almost never do reviews, but we loved this so much I had too. This is a must for anyone with a cast. I read the reviews that said it was easy to break. I can see where it would be. We made the rule of only an adult was allowed to use it. We were very careful and it lasted through 2 casts and 5 weeks no problem. I keep the pads in the fridge so they are cold. The pads smell great! My 4 year old broke her arm above the elbow. This product helped her so much. It helped soothe her itching. The ortho was so impressed with how clean her arm was. They said they were going to start telling people about this product.
