You won't regret buying this guitar and for its quality and workmanship, you won't find a better deal.
Except for a guitar stand which you could purchase cheap from Chromacast (about $16), this package comes complete and well-built. I ordered this last Sunday p.m., delivered Monday eve. and now my Tuesday p.m. review. Super-quick delivery. I was pleasantly surprised at the superb quality of the guitar and also of the other items that came with it. First, the guitar. The finish is flawless. The frets needed a bit of filing at the ends ... a bit of smoothing the top and bottom ends (normal for new guitars and not to be construed as a bad thing). The mahogany neck is super straight and the bow is properly adjusted (no need to adjust the truss rods) ... btw, the hex tool for the truss rod comes with the package as well. You can tell immediately if the neck is crooked by visually lining up the dot inlays between the 3rd and 4th strings. The tone is amazing. The humbuckers (rhythm or neck pickup and the treble or bridge pickup) gives out a monstrous tone and the pickups were adjusted properly at the factory for height or string gap; the switches work fine. This guitar is not necessarily for beginners. I've been playing guitars for 54 years and this one will rank up there for professional use. This is my 9th guitar in my collection ... and this thing could rival my Gibson faded cherry LP Special for sound and looks ... though the vintage suburst is better-looking than the flat cherry, I suppose. The nickel hardware at the bridge and the StopBar tailpiece looks great and shiny ... just like the Gibson's. The numbers on the clear/black knobs are easy to see at any angles and of course, you don't need to be a rocket scientist to operate the switch ... up/rhythm for the neck pickup; down/treble for the bridge pickup; and middle for both. The action is properly set ... about 5/64" for the low string measured at the 12th fret. All string length adjustments at the saddle (with individual screw adjustments) are properly tuned (after tuning, check the tune at the 12th fret for flat or sharp notes then adjust for string length at the saddle.) The strings sit properly (halfway) at the nut and the headstock is superbly-crafted with a mirror finish ... with Les Paul's signatures on both the headstock and the truss rod plastic cover (which also shows the "Special - II LE" designation). Note: if you buy just the guitar (without the "Pack" series), the headstock will not show Les Paul's signature ... only the word "Special" on the headstock. Check it out. The strap holders are flared wide enough to prevent slippage. You could also replace them with a locking strap pin holders if you wish (about $10 for four lock pin units here at amazon) ... the alder/maple body is quite heavy. The rosewood fretboard with dot inlays on both the face and the top edge are nicely finished. The tuning machines and the capstans are of high quality and I was pleasantly surprised to see that the guitar comes with D'Addario strings (saw it on the website when I registered for warranty) ... I was going to replace the strings but no need to for now. I use D'Addarios for my guitars. The gig bag (with its huge silkscreened logo) is well made with medium quality zippers (not like the heavy-duty Gibson gig bags) and padded but not as thickly-padded as a Gibson gig bag, but definitely thicker than those thick plastic varieties that comes free with other guitars. The tiny amp is great for practice and very handy to lug around. I'm impressed that the 10-watt 6-inch-speakered unit (open at the back) comes with an overdrive button. How much noise could you make? The plug is not your regular three-pronged unit ... it comes with a 24-volt 500mA power transformer. There are equalizers - for treble and bass only - and the amp comes with an aux in for playing music from your smartphone/tablet perhaps, as well as an earphone outlet ... great for private listening. The chromatic tuner with blue face is easy to see with one-button operation and turns green when the string hits the proper note. Great for beginners and it works great especially for the tone-deaf :). The strap could be a bit wider as the guitar is quite heavy. But it comes free with the pack so either use it or buy a wider strap. The pack comes with a manual, three Epi picks and a full-colour poster which details most of the Epiphone models. They all remind me of the Gibson line. The guitar instrument cable is quite thick compared to the cord you could get for free elsewhere; great for practicing. I played it on my regular Frontman amp and it sounds fantastic ... it will put to shame some of those "expensive" guitars in looks and performance. Although it doesn't say anywhere, this guitar (and all the other items that came with it) are Made in China and I'd say, the Chinese manufacturers have come along nicely in producing a top-quality and highly-desirable product with fine attention to detail; well done. And thankfully, if this unit is made in "high-wages" North America facilities, the price could balloon to three or four times the current selling price. 24/7, 365-day customer service warranty is backed by the legendary Gibson group. (Epiphone is part of the Gibson family of guitar brands.) You won't regret buying this guitar and for its quality and workmanship, you won't find a better deal.

Excelente producto!

A guitar that Feel like its worth a LOT more.
My wife heard I wanted an Electric Guitar and ordered me a full Fender Squire kit, I put this into my amazon cart and she knew when I did that I am the type to read tons of reviews prior to buying anything. She was correct I had read a ridiculous amount of reviews about guitars in the beginner range. I am not going to repeat what I read but basically this guitar was said to be much higher quality than the rest of the guitars in the range. It turned out my mom bought the other guitar off me when she found out i had it as my dad also wanted one. I have had a chance to use both and I can say a few things, the Fender looks a little cooler, and the sound is a little richer, but the weight and feel of the fender was wimpy compared to the Les Paul. When I played the fender the string vibration rang through the wood and made if feel like force feedback from gaming controllers. I didn't like that at all. the Les Paul has nicer hardware and the construction of the guitar Is amazing. When i got the guitar I thought it was damaged because the volume knob didn't work right, It turned out it was just loose from the body of the guitar, apply a little force and pull the top of the knob off and use pliers to tighten the nut and now its sturdy and works perfect. I didn't need to adjust the truss rod or the strings much, they took a half turn to get them in tune for playing. **BONUS REVIEW** BUY ROCK SMITH 2014!!! I wanted this guitar to learn how to play but I live in an area where the nearest place to take lessons is 50+ miles away, and I work 50 hours a week and have a 45 min commute each way, so my time is limited. My first day with rock-smith 2014 i could barely find the fret in time to hit a single note and when the song switched strings i was like "this is impossible, forget about this!" but I just bought this expensive guitar so i thought I will at the very least complete the 60 day challenge. LET ME TELL YOU! I have been playing for 2.5 weeks and now i am playing 3 songs at full speed and full difficulty with 75% accuracy, I can play the recognizable parts of: Lenard skynard - sweet home Alabama Rolling Stones - paint it black Everclear - Father of mine Foreigner - Jukebox Hero I have always been a artistically talented person; sculpting, painting, drawing, etc... but this is the first time I have almost been in tears with pride when I heard the familiar sounds of songs i love coming out of my hands. I cannot recommend Rocksmith enough. I bought the origonal rocksmith and the disc import tool so now i have a TON of music to learn at any time i feel like it, from a tool that is amazing.
