is this the correct filter for toro model no. 20070? i bought one from home depot, but the hole was too small.

Greetings, The mower was given to me but I will try to give you what little I know. Mine is a Toro 22" recycler Model #20031. The oval air filter has Tecumseh 36905 on it and has a 3/4" hole. It fits this mower exactly and I had purchased a two pack. Keep your receipt and return the depot filter. If you have the old filter you can use it to locate the correct filter. Thank You.

There are only a few styles of filters for mowers. If it looks like the one on your mower then chances are that it will fit. They usually go in a plastic holder. The other common one is circular instead of oval. Hope that helps.
