I have had a Venu 2 in the past and was very satisfied with it but you couldn't really call it smart, as it had no speaker / mic. Enter the Venu 2 plus and now you have these. This means that you can take calls on your wrist and invoke your phone's smart assistant, whether that be Google, Siri or Alexa. However the voice assistant feature operates in a slightly unexpected way, as it simply tells your phone what to do. For example, if you say "set a timer for 2 minutes", it won't start the watch's inbuilt timer but starts one on your phone. This is OK once you realise what is going on and does have some advantages, in that for example you can take notes using the watch - something you can't do with the mighty Apple Watch. So I don't mark the watch down because of this. One bonus is that you can now have audible alarms and other sounds which is a nice touch. Where it does lose a star is the sleep tracking which has never been one of Garmin's strong cards. It basically records all the time in bed as sleep. The SpO2 readings are also a bit suspect, usually unexpectedly low, but if you tighten up the strap, they seem to become more accurate. However, it's not worth the discomfort wearing the watch so tight just to get accurate SpO2 reading over a long period, such as overnight. If you want a good sleep tracker go for a Fitbit which are cheaper but nowhere near as good for activity and workout tracking as the Garmin. It's also a shame that the watch doesn't yet have ECG monitoring. Most other boxes are ticked, as with the Venu 2, so you get great activity and workout tracking. The display is gorgeous and the watch faces provided include some very nice ones. You can download more if you aren't happy with these and even design your own. I haven't yet used any of the guided workout features but there are I gather quite a lot of these, so if that's your thing, you should be well satisfied. This version of the Venu is slightly smaller than the larger Venu 2 but is actually a better size, especially as the screen size is the same, so smaller bezels. It generally feels a bit more premium too, which is just as well given the significant extra cost. One thing I really love about the entire Venu range, including this one, is the stellar battery life. I use mine for GPS workouts for around an hour a day, sometimes a lot longer, and I reckon to get 5-6 days. Without the GPS tracked workouts we would be looking at at least a week, which is really good, compared to many smart watches which have to be charged daily, e.g the Apple Watch. The Connect app is also very good with tons of features and a nice interface. So would I recommend this? Yes, but if you aren't that bothered with the extra smart features go for a Venu 2 which is now quite a lot cheaper and likely to be discounted. And don't buy any Garmin product if you simply want good sleep tracking. Update: I have now awarded this watch the fifth star, as there has been a series of updates which seem to have dramatically improved the sleep tracking. It even now records naps. It's still not quite as good as a Fitbit for sleep tracking but hammers it in virtually every other respect and overall this is now an excellent smartwatch and a stellar fitness tracker.

If you are looking for a top quality health and fitness tracker this is a smartwatch to consider. If you are mostly interested in having an extension of your phone on your wrist then I think you have to consider a different kind of product, but if performance, fitness and health are your aim then this may be the smartwatch for you. I have found the battery is excellent, I workout 5 times a week and it lasts me on average 10 days. I only track my pulse Ox at night, and I only keep the Bluetooth connected when needed and I am out of the house. The sleep tracking is very accurate, providing you with insights on your sleeping quality and patterns. This translates into your energy or body battery for the day. There are also a number of additional metrics provided, including accurate GPS readings, pulse OX, heart rate, intensity minutes tracking, etc... Seamless integration with smartphone and with google assistant for voice commands. If you do not require a speaker or voice functionality then you may be better off looking into the Venu 2 watch instead as it will be less costly. In summary very happy with this watch and the Garmin offering in general.

Not a runner but wanted to do a bit more exercise. I'm using it for basic tracking (steps, pulse-ox, active minutes, sleep). It's quite an attractive watch and for me lasts 3-5 days between charges. Some functions like sleep monitoring are questionable but interesting. Not at all sure I always trust its monitoring of "restlessness" or even how long I was sleeping. Other functions like measuring steps seem spot on. Touch screen and very easy to use - but I can't judge if it's suitability for an iron man challenge, a stroll around the shops isn't quite the same. At the start, the notifications from phone and watch were too much but it encouraged me to turn off all the phone notifications that are a waste of time so good in the end. You can even answer calls on it but obviously not the best call quality. I like it for: -

I purchased this and a Samsung Watch 5 pro within a month of each other so is easy to make comparisons, I also had a Google pixel watch so will compare all three. Battery Life - The garmin wins this hands down, 9 days battery life easily compared to an average of 4 days for the Samsung and 1 day with the Pixel watch. Display - all three have a very good display and would be extremely difficult to pick my favourite, however if you are comparing the display size as well, my preference would be the Samsung, then the Garmin and the Pixel comes last. Ease of use - in terms of how intuitive the three watches are this would go to the Pixel watch followed by the Samsung and then the Garmin, once you start looking at the apps required to use the watches, it makes it more difficult, as all three need at least two companion apps, which shouldn't need to be the case, this garmin needs the connect app and the separate store app BUT if you're not interested in new faces and apps, the garmin is the best as it only needs the connect app. Tracking - all three have various issues when it comes to accuracy, however without anything that is calibrated to compare them to, I wouldn't want to pick which is the most/ least accurate. Set up - Having a Google Pixel phone, the Pixel watch was the easiest to set up, the Samsung and Garmin were very similar to each other and there have been no issues with WiFi or losing connection with either. I sold the Pixel watch within a few days (it was a free gift) as the battery life and size of the screen were major issues for me, out of the Samsung and Garmin, I would say they are very closely matched and maybe the Garmin just edges it due to the very good battery life

For some reason my Garmin Age is a good bit higher on this watch than on my Garmin Forerunner 45, but this seems to be a common issue. It tells me the only way to reduce this is by losing weight, which doesn't really feel is fair as it's meant to be a fitness score. Other than this, really like my new watch. Great screen, like the touchscreen, the bright display. Lots of goal congratulations come up on the screen, easy to use for running and I can also record my tennis on it. Connects well to Strava. I thought it might be too big, but it's feminine enough in the cream/gold option - not sure I'd wear a darker colour though. Good smart watch features, notifications from phone etc, and clearly show on the main display. One thing though, when running, sometimes when I lift my wrist to look, it doesn't light up. This could be better as I find myself doing a very exaggerated wrist lift sometimes to be able to see the display. Not sure why this is.

I've had this for over a year now and I've loved it so far. It is very pretty, it has a very long battery life compared to other smart watches, and it is very easy to add apps (including spotify!) or workout routines so it is great if going for a run or a workout. You can also use it to track your sleep, stress levels, water intake, od period. I have found it quite accurate and the stats it provides have certainly helped me improve my habits.

Vivoactive Plus is a great upgrade from my previous 6s. The screen is much better, I love the touchscreen function and the speaker (soo handy when you can't get to your phone for a call)- connects only when your phone is connected. It feels like a more valued watch :) The It is great for everyday sport, walking, HIIT, running, pilates, indoor swimming etc. The one thing that could do more work, my option, is that there is no outdoor swimming option. I tried SUP for my outdoor swim which was 20 minutes and the watch struggled with the GPS and said I had swam 7 yards - haha! The sleeping function is great, it gives you a more detailed breakdown on your sleep! Other than that small outdoor swimming niggle, this watch is awesome!

I bought this watch with high hopes, but unfortunately it broke after just 9 months of use. When I contacted Amazon, they asked me to send it in for repair—which I did promptly. However, the watch was held for nearly two months with no updates or communication. Eventually, I was told it had been lost during the process. Thankfully, I did manage to get a refund in the end, but the whole experience was frustrating and time-consuming. I expected better reliability from the product and more transparency from the service team. Wouldn’t recommend based on my experience.

Brilliant watch, bought it on special as a Christmas gift to myself! Upgraded from a vivoactive 3!

Nachdem ich als Hobbybergsteiger Jahrzehnte lang ein early adopter des jeweils aktuellen Highend-GPS-Outdoor-Modells war (Suunto, Garmin), wollte ich nun eine echte Smartwatch, also mehr Information, ohne auf die Outdoorfunktionen zu verzichten. Dieses Modell ist genau das, was ich gesucht habe: schicke Uhr, GPS- und andere Tracking-Funktionen, Fitness, Gesundheit, Messages, Terminerinnerungen, Timer, Sprachassistent, Telefonie - das volle Programm. Die Anbindung an mein Pixel 6 Pro ist makellos und nahezu permanent, verblüffend die Haltbarkeit des Akkus (gefühlt anderthalb Wochen zwischen zwei Aufladungen im täglichen, auch nächtlichen, Gebrauch ohne GPS). Der Google Sprachassistent benötigt etwa 3 Sekunden nach Drücken der entsprechenden Taste zum "Aufwachen" (Verbinden) und funktioniert dann problemlos. Hervorragend die Telefonie: ein kurzes Tippen auf den Touchscreen zum Annehmen des Gesprächs, der Klang ist klar und hinreichend laut. Perfekt, wenn man in einem Auto sitzt, mit dessen Freisprechanlage man nicht verbunden ist. Die oben auf dem Lenkrad ruhende linke Hand befindet sich in idealer Position für ein kurzes Gespräch. Diese Smartwatch tut nicht nur schlau, sie ist es in zahlreichen Alltagssituationen tatsächlich. Bin nach drei Monaten sehr zufrieden.

Ça fait un an et demi que je l'ai maintenant et j'en suis extrêmement content. Recharge une fois par semaine malgré que j'emploie le GPS tous les jours. La fonction téléphone est super car on est plus obligé de chercher le téléphone pour répondre et tout les suivis sommeil, stress, fréquence cardiaque, ... sont fort utiles. En résumé, très content de mon achat.
