15" Cold Cathode Case Light Sound Activated (Red)

i use a Logisys Corp. 550W 120mm Ball Bearing Fan with PSU ATX 550 Power Supply PS550E12BK, Black ... i wired it to power a few of these a car stereo and a 12"woofer. in my room the cold cathode just adds to the awesomeness of the power of a car sound system in a home i put the inverter inside the woofer case and the light outside of the case and tuned it to flash to the beat very awesome..bright enough to see and has a convenient always on sound activated and off switch..i replaced the led with a red one to match the red light... and i did all this and im only 16

Pros- Comes with Sticky velcro- Looks niceCons- The connector box makes a really annoying hum- The box itself has a blue LED that is pretty bright.- Power brick/ Box is also large.- I would recommend going with cablemod LED's instead

Lights a great color, works perfectly and sound reactive module works if you put a speaker nearby it (i have tweeters hooked up to my surround sound and wire them into my computer case). The ONLY thing that pissed me off a little bit isIT'S A 14 INCH CATHODE. and i mean EXACTLY 14 inches. Why not market it as that? im still happy with it but my case can totally accomodate a 15 inch cathode and i really wanted one. Either way it's bigger than the 12 inch ones so i'm happy enough.just, wtf

Stopped working after a week. I should've expected this from the moment I installed it. It feels like crap-quality and it's ability to pick up sound is laughable. They should've designed it to only pick up certain sound frequencies; for example, only deep, bassy sound. That would've made this product a lot more useful from the get-go.

FIRST THE LIGHTS THEM SELF'S ARE NICE AND BRIGHT. THEN POSITIVES STOP THERE. I HAD THE SENSITIVITY TURNED ALL THE UP AND THE ALL THESE THINGS MANAGED TO WAS PISS OFF MY NEIGHBORS FROM HAVE THE MUSIC UP SO LOUD. I EVEN REMOVED THE THE "MIC" FROM THE CASE IN HAD IT IN THE SUB PORT OF MY SPEAKERS AND STILL NOTHING. THAT'S TWO INDIVIDUAL SETUPS AS I BOUGHT TWO DOING THE SAME THING. THE WIRE IS ALL ODDLY SETUP TOO. THE WIRES TO THE INVERTER FROM THE CATH'S IS SHORT YET U HAVE A LONG POWER WIRE AND A LONG POWER SWITCH AND SENSITIVITY WIRE WHICH BOTH HAVE TO RUN TO THE INVERTER/MIC. THIS MAKES HIDING WIRING A REAL PAIN AND TRYING TO HARD THE INVERT AND ITS BLUE LIGHT IF UR NOT USING BLUE IN UR SCHEME. I AM PLANNING TO BUY A 4WAY INVERTER AND TRASHING THE SULPPIED "SOUND ACTIVE" ONE SO I CAN HAVE IT HIDDEN AND KEEP A CLEAN LOOK TO MY BUILD. OH AS MANY HAVE ALSO SAID YOU CAN FORGET THE VELCRO THAT IS SUPPLIED. EVEN IT YOU HAVE CLEAN BARE METAL THESE THINGS WILL NOT STAY PUT LONGER THEN A FEW HOURS IF YOUR LUCKY.

I ordered this light kit along with the blue cold cathode sound activated light kit for a science project prop. I was a little wary about the frustration other buyers had with getting these to work. The trouble is these kits don't come with instructions other than a couple pictures on the package for wiring.Since I wasn't hooking this up to a computer, there was a bit of a trick to figure out how to get it to work. This review is to make sure other buyers do something very important: Look up this light kit on some YouTube how-to videos.THESE ARE NOT TOYS. Because these require an electrical power source, PLEASE OBSERVE ELECTRICAL SAFETY RULES.I had to purchase something called a 12 volt Molex power converter to operate these lights in our science project. The molex power connections can apparently also be found in automobile electrical connections for "flashing up your ride" and somehow are also present with your computer connections. Again, find some qualified advice before setting these up.Now, why the 5 stars? You want to talk about a huge WOW factor, these light kits have a fantastic response to sound (especially music with a really great beat). They're adjustable too, so they actually "beat" at different times adding to the overall effect.So the science project? 1st place.

The media could not be loaded.  when i received the item, the end of the packaging was damaged as was the cathode tube (i dont blame the damage on the seller as the local mail carier has a habbit of being rough with packages, even going as far as leaving them in the rain). the item was in a lager box with another item item that i ordered from the seller, and my only complaint is that there was nothing to keep the item from moving or being damaged by the larger item. seller responded to email within a day or so, after exchanging a few emails including pictures of the damaged item and packaging, the seller replaced the tube and the item works great. eventually used in sound activation mod shown in video.
