The Saddest Musical I've Ever Seen
Unlike other upbeat musicals BLUE SKIES has a melancholy atmosphere. But so does the title song. I love to hear Bing sing and watch Astaire dance, but the character motivation and forced resolution of the thin plot made me wince. That said, I will watch it again for a couple of finer moments. Astaire's "Puttin' on the Ritz" is enjoyable and the comedic routines of Billy de Wolfe are notable. Joan Caulfield, who fell in love with Crosby during this movie, seems forlorn, like a woman who will be left behind....and she is in real life. I will watch BLUE SKIES again. But it is the saddest musical I've ever seen.

Excellent Vintage Movie
Any movie with Astaire and Crosby is worth a look. And this one certainly meets their entertainment standards. A good buy.

Irving Berlin's songs, served up deliciously
Take Bing Crosby and Fred Astaire at their glorious best. Add a touch of the beautiful Joan Caulfield and the rhythmic dancing and singing of Olga San Juan, and you will savor the wide range of Irving Berlin's music. The quality of the DVD is surprisingly high -- brilliant color and sharp images -- for a film from 1946. Not an MGM production, but in my opinion this is entertainment of the highest value. Highly recommended.

I love this movie!! SO charming (can't go wrong with Fred Astaire and Bing Crosby 😉) and an absolute delight. So cute and romantic, has great songs and dancing. Perfect for all ages. Would highly recommend.

Faulty soundtrack
Please note that this review is not about the movie itself, but only concerns that Amazon,as of Feb. 2023,are still selling the blu-ray with the faulty soundtrack.

Not one of Fred's favorites
I realize it was the script but did not like Bing's character as much as Fred's. I understand that Fred did not like this movie as much because Bing got the girl instead of him.

El baile de Fred Puttin on the Ritz
