Bosch Cordless Hedge Trimmer and Grass Shear - EasyShear

Although the trimmer was already partially charged, I followed the manufacturer's advice & charged it fully before I used it for the 1st time. Dead easy to change the blade. I used it to shape an overgrown shrub plus trim some grass & there was plenty of charge left. I had no problems with cutting any of the stems or thinner branches. The blades are sharp & left a neat edge. You just need to cut from the right angle & it's like a hot knife through butter. The job was done in 5 minutes rather than the 30 or so it would have taken me with secateurs & a LOT easier on my hands. I have rheumatoid arthritis so this tool is a God send to me. It's light & easy to manoeuvre. I cleaned it, sprayed with WD40 & it's ready for next time. I am happy to recommend it.

Great tool. simple to use and a good value. I use it for trimming the edges of borders. It's perfect for my city garden. Only giving four stars because changing the blades takes some getting used to, and the manual doesn't explain it properly. It charges quickly and has good autonomy.

I'm a lazy gardener with a big wild garden. I find shears a real drag because they're never sharp enough to carve through unruly tufts of grass around raised beds etc, but this little beauty just carves through the lawn growth around pots, greenhouses and so on. It's like a beard trimmer for the garden! The hedge blade is less impressive, but sorts out ground ivy and new hedge growth. Remember, this is a small hand tool, for instant use, not a serious strimmer or trimmer, but that's also its great strength because it's instantly available for a quick and effective tidy up. It's very sharp, the battery goes on for ages (bearing in mind this is a quick tidy up tool) and it's light and easy to use.

This is such a useful little gadget for trimming shrubs and grass edges. It charges up quickly too. Best money I have spent in the garden this year.

For shrubs, this is a great little gadget. Lightweight and cutting power good. Would recommend for sure.

I found the trimmer was very dificult to change the cutting heads. It was only the video a fellow custoler posted that made it possible for me to be able to do it. The instruction book did not give any details it was totally lacking in any diagrams or instruction. The sections marked UK were written in Greek, I felt left on my own. It is wonderful how customer reviews are so helpful. It looks like ir should be a solid bit of kit. I do share the reservstions on the review that the battery is sealed in the handle. When the battery is at thew end of its life the unit is unusable.

I bought this based on brand. Bosch is a good make and I have had good products from them before. It was more expensive than others items, but I hoped it would be better based on reputation. It is very lightweight, and great for small tidy up jobs. I guess the lightness is down to a smaller battery- The run time is nowhere near the 40 minutes advertised, more like 25-30. I am surprised at the design for changing the blades, Bosch's product design falls down big time here. So fiddly and not intuitive. The manual is rubbish and I had to resort to YouTube videos to understand how to change the blades. So in summary, good tool, but poor blade change design and battery life.

Rating is 4.3 out of 5, so I had great hopes. For this price, it should be professional quality, not a well made toy. The "Cordless Hedge Trimmer with Rotatable Handle for Milwaukee M18 Battery" (also on Amazon) is half the price and twice as useful as this item. This item is light, tiny, and heavy grass jams it. Perfect for a small hand and a very small garden, but that's it. It took a month for delivery from Denmark, and the package was damaged. The unadvertised 20% import duty to Canada was an unwelcome surprise.
