The performance is very good. Value for the money is great, and the effect on the grass was good. There was a ease of spreading and the appearance is very nice

Effectiveness and greenness

I have used several Scott's liquid products in the past and all of them have been easy to use, until now. I was unpleasantly surprised when this one leaked all over the place when I turned the water on. The hose connection piece on the bottle completely failed immediately causing most of the water to spray out in all directions. The contents of the bottle did not mix with the water and did not come out of the bottle.

I love having a green, weed-free lawn, but I hate have to drag out the spreader to do it. And storing bags of fertilizer in the shed just takes up too much room. So when I saw this EZ Feed Plus fertilizer by Scotts, I decided to give it a try.Applying this fertilizer is super easy. Just attach you garden hose…turn on the water…and there you go. It goes on evenly and smoothly. With this product, I don’t have to worry about dropping too much in one spot and burning the grass.This fertilizer works very well. I’ve used it a couple of times now, and I see results in my lawn within a couple of days unlike with my granular fertilizer that a week. My lawn is full and definitely green.My only complaint about this product is that it’s hard to know how much you actually have left. The container fills with water, so you’re unsure how much fertilizer is actually in there mixed with the water. It would be nice if the bottle was translucent or something and fertilizer had a tine so you could gauge what’s remaining.But nonetheless, I’m satisfied with this Scotts EZ Feed fertilizer. It does the job keeping my grass looking good, and it’s super easy to use and apply.

Easy to use and seems to be doing the job

The product in the bottle itself worked well, however the curved handle design for the hose creates an issue with your hose and sprays on you! Tried 2 bottles and different hoses, same spraying issue.

Okay, so this came off season, when the lawn is dormant for winter - and in any event, a 2,000 SF quantity like this would not do much for my 1-acre yard. Nor would doing the full acre with this hose-end spray product be either cost or time-efficient. But we put in a new retaining wall in one area last fall and had to lay sod on top of the new fill, so I'm counting on this to give that smaller sodded area a jump start when things start to green up in a couple months.I've used Scott's products for years, in two different states with completely different climates and different varieties of turf grass and I've always had excellent results, which is why I ordered this product. I'll drop back to report on results in the spring, but for now, I'm ready to get going on it!

This doesn't have my preferred formulation for a nitrogen-rich fertilizer since it contains mostly soluble nitrogen, which can wash out. The resulting runoff can cause environmental problems, especially if you're near bodies of water. But it's still a workable product for when you want a nitrogen and iron fertilizer.Rather than use the bottle as-is, I use small amounts that I dilute with water and apply using a pump up sprayer (roughly 1 oz per gallon per 1,000 sq ft of lawn). The lower amount used eliminates (or significantly minimizes) the risk of runoff, plus allows for better take-up by the grass. This method allows the 32 oz bottle to provide quite a few applications -- in combination with mulching in clippings, the bottle covers all nitrogen needs, and most iron needs, for my lawn for two years.While I don't use the dispensing bottle to dispense this fertilizer, it's a good functioning dispenser nonetheless. It's decently stout, easy to use, and the handle design is excellent for comfort. It's designed to apply 1.4 pounds of product per 1,000 sq ft. The biggest downside is that it's designed to be a use and discard item, which is wasteful not only for cost, but for discarded plastic. But, with a little patience, the bottle can be re-used (drill a hole at the top of the bottle for filling, then seal it with a cork from a wine bottle). The dispenser can then be refilled and re-used for other liquid fertilizers. A big thumbs down for designing this primarily as a one-use dispenser when it would have been quite easy to make it amenable to re-use.In terms of strict convenience this would be 5 stars since it's a ready-to-use item packaged in a dispenser that's easy to use. The formulation, however, is 3 stars since it relies mostly on water soluble nitrogen. The fact that the dispenser is designed as a single-use item is worth 1 star (although with a little effort it can be re-used). Overall score of 3 stars.
