Pure Encapsulations is one of the BEST supplement companies. They don't add fillers - pure just like their name. DIM Detox works extremely well at getting the extra estrogen out of my system. Great for perimenopause when estrogen levels are on a roller coaster ride. I take it when I need it and then stop when I don't. No side effects. These are decent size pills than can be harder to swallow for those with EOE, but I found that if I swallowed it with a smoothie or extra water it was fine.

2019 update: I still swear by these supplements and DIM Detox in particular. I took them for about a year then took a break last year when I felt like the supplements effectiveness had worn off. This year I’ve noticed acne coming back so I re-subscribed to my supplements. The most recent bottle I ordered has a VERY funky smell, and I can hardly stand to take them. However, it feels like it’s still doing the same quick job on my hormonal acne which is my top priority, so I won’t dock any stars for the unpleasant taste/smell of this bottle. I should also mention that before ordering this brand again, I tried two other brands of DIM, supposedly stronger doses with bio-perine in them for better absorption - and honestly I didn’t feel like they did anything at all... so I’m back to Pure Encapsulations! I never did end up able to conceive but my husband and I accepted that and moved on :) Original review: Finally!! A REAL fix for my hormonal acne. I've been taking these for a month now and have seen such a huge improvement in my skin among many other things. I’ve never had acne problems other than a random cyst or two on my chin around shark week. Suddenly in June 2017, age 28 my chin broke out and then it just kept on breaking, getting worse every day. My face was COVERED within 6 weeks, hot to the touch, itchy, new whiteheads and cysts popped up several times a day. I was in tears daily as you can imagine. I tried literally thousands of dollars worth of face washes & remedies, and glued my eyeballs to every acne forum I could find, trying everything that was suggested. Still, as fast as one would dry up, 2 more would appear. Thank goodness for the internet, since doctors were no help - I read about DIM and a few other supplements on a hormonal acne forum, and finally decided to stop murdering my face with topical chemicals and start treating the imbalance with these supplements instead. I noticed my acne drying up within the first week of taking them. Within a month I no longer had any active breakouts, just a lot of red scarring - but I could cover up with makeup at least. 3 months later still pimple-free and a lot of the redness had faded. PMS: My period actually got a little longer (went from 3 days to 5 days, but I didn't mind because it was incredibly smooth, very little pain, and came a day early instead of being late/irregular as usual. Dosage- I started out taking 1 morning & 1 evening but noticed better results when I upped to 3 a day, morning lunch & evening. I think the DIM is incredibly important, but I also take several other supplements that all work together, explained below. I take 1 Vitex 400mg (by Nature's Way) every time I take the DIM... am, lunch & pm. This is also incredible for balancing hormones. I feel like these 2 combined are my skin's saving grace. I take an extra milk thistle supplement (1000mg by EBYSU) to help my liver process everything, which is really important with the DIM because it is sending all the excess hormones to your liver to detox them out of your body, and if you're liver is overloaded then the DIM won't be nearly as effective. This DIM Detox is better than other DIM on the market because it also contains supplements like milk thistle and calcium d-glucarate that really help the process, but I take the extra milk thistle because I've never detoxed my liver before so I'm sure it could use the extra help for a while. I also take a probiotic once daily (Fortify 50 billion by Nature's Way) to improve digestion. Along the same lines as the liver detox, if you're not regularly going to the bathroom, then the toxic waste that your liver is producing, will sit in your intestines and could get absorbed back into your bloodstream. Another note is that all these supplements I'm taking are reportedly awesome for infertility due to hormonal issues. My husband and I have been TTC for 3 years with one MC in year 1 and nothing since then... it wasn't until my face erupted that I realized I had a serious hormonal imbalance. With my cycle now balanced, I have hope that I'll be able to conceive soon. If I should be so lucky, i will continue to take the DIM+Vitex through the first trimester, then wean off, since I have read many accounts of people stopping the DIM+Vitex as soon as they get their BFP and then they ended up losing it because of the imbalance suddenly coming back. Apparently it's okay to wean off after the first trimester because around 12 weeks, your placenta takes over hormone control. ** I'm not a doctor so please consult yours and/or do your own research. I am just thrilled that I finally found what is working for me, and thought my experiences may help someone else.

I am going through IVF and have been taking this due to my hx of endometriosis. I feel like this helps with my inflammatory levels. I have been less bloated and have had less acne. I do not think I will be able to do it long term, due to pricing, but for the 3-6 months surrounding my IVF treatment, it feels worth it.

This blend is the best I have come across. I have taken others and they don’t quite do as great as this one. My liver is supported well to metabolize hormones. I take it at night before bed. In the beginning I was waking up to use the bathroom a lot. That was a good sign, I knew it was working because my body was getting rid of the excess that had been clogging up my liver. Now it’s about maintaining good function.

I added this supplement to my weighloss journey on the reccomendation of my doctor along with a glp1 medicine. I wasn't crazy about it at first because of the way it makes my sweat smell like broccoli and taking it makes my eyes itch. I must be alergic to something in it. When I was consistantly taking this supplement, I was seeing weight come off more quickly. When I would stop, I wouldn't see the results. Now I'm back on it along with an alergy pill. I'm dedicated to continuing with this detox supplement until I reach my weighloss goals.
