Good Addition to the Fleet!
Great model. Another gift to my brother who is assembling a rather large fleet of military ship models. He researches the ship history and finds actual images of the ship or boat in action. He then makes up parts that may be missing or changes the paint scheme to match war time. I don't know how he has the wits to deal with painting and glueing some of those tiny parts,

As expected
Arrived in excellent condition as expected in a timely fashion. No delays or issues noted. easy to order. I thought it was a toy, not a model, so it was more difficult for my grandson to play with but overall the product was good

Not a good buy at the price
The directions for this model were terrible to say the least. The hull for this was warped and I could not fit the parts in correctly and broke some parts trying

Bought this for our grandson but it was difficult for me to put together. Would have really liked it if it come already built.

Landing Craft, Vehicle, Personnel (LCVP) or Higgins Boat
One of the first models ever produced of the venerable and unsung workhorse of WWII fame, the LCVP. I would venture that this craft has gained newfound popularity (and recognition) on account of Saving Private Ryan (1998) and other WWII productions (Band of Brothers) to include video games. This kit used to be set up as a free running motorized boat and included all the necessary parts to make it operable except--you guessed it, batteries, but that is no longer a feature. This is a fairly intricate kit modeled in 1/32 scale which is so close to 1/35 scale as to not be noticeable. Extra 1/35 infantry soldiers from other manufacturers can be purchased to fill the cargo area to recreate a scene from D-Day or any other amphibious landing. The boat can also carry other similarly scaled cargo to include jeeps or maybe a few towed 37 mm anti-tank guns. Certainly this kit like others requires some skill for the assembly and painting as well as a certain level of patience but I don't think it qualifies as a difficult kit; the one piece main hull surely helps in this regard. These kits are molded in gray plastic so it is not really necessary to paint it to make it acceptable. The kit, like the subject matter, is venerable as it is an old kit and has likely been surpassed as of late by newer offerings by other manufacturers (Italeri for instance) but it is still a fairly accurate one. Lastly, Lindberg remains at the forefront a model kit manufacturer that is unique in their amphibious warfare offerings: LCVPs, LSTs, LCTs and LCIs are among other unique vessels that other kit makers by and large refuse to consider. Long live Lindberg!
