The phone is held in place, so you don't have to worry about it separating from the case. If I had one suggestion for improvement, it would be to add an additional snap closure to the middle top. That way there would be 2 snap closures, one in the middle side and one in the middle top. That said, I really like this case because I no longer have to carry this case plus a wallet to hold additional credit cards, etc. This case holds it all for me. First, the color is more of a mustard yellow than a sunshine yellow as the picture shows. Secondly, the strap is already showing cracks at the bending points after just a few hours. Third, the yellow "layer" appears to be separating from the base. It's just not good quality. My other case lasted 5 years and I paid $6 for it. I expected this to be better but I was so very wrong. I'm not someone who is hard on their phones either. I have a Samsung galaxy note 5 in perfect condition and I've had it for 5 years. This case lasted me about 2 hours before it began to show wear that I would expect after about a few years.
