It is alright.
These came fairly quickly. Pretty expensive for how much you get. I bought the red to transform a wedding dress into a Lydia Deetz dress- This is after one whole bottle and being boiled on a stove top in a big pot for an hour (before and after) I think I will have to dye it again and hope that more colour is absorbed as it is a lot of fabric. It wasn’t easy to use as the pot kept overboiling even on the lowest, and you have to be super careful of your surroundings or you’ll dye everything. The colour is even though and it does look alright 😀

Works well
Polyester is hard to dye, let`s not tell porky pies. However, with perseverance and a little ingenuity it is possible. I bought second hand chairs (pic 1) very cheaply and despite fairly heavy wear turned them into usable, comfortable loungers. I should point out I am a site carpenter and have had no previous experience in the upholstery trade.I disassembled the chairs and removed the covers (top tip, take plenty of photos). Being unable to find/locate/scrounge a suitable stainless steel pot big enough, more than 35 litres, I purchased a second hand Swan boiler of 20 litres. This meant I had to dye the parts of one chair in two lots (following the instructions to the letter) After bringing the water up to temperature (approx 95 centigrade) I then proceeded to put dye (Anthracite), washing up liquid and covers into boiler. I stirred for 40 minutes using a stainless steel set of barbeque tongs before allowing it to sit for a further 25 minutes (at temperature). Using said tongs, I removed covers and put into a clean 40 litre trug half filled with warm water. Quick rinse, allowing everything to cool somewhat then into second trug with cold water. After rinsing through fairly well, quick hand wring, then into washing machine for a medium cycle (40 degrees quick wash) with a couple of old towels as per instructions. Repeat another 3 times and hey presto the results as per pic 2 and 3.Bit of a faff, and somewhat long winded but I am really happy with the results.

IT DYES LACES
So glad i tried this, finally managed to dye my skate laces orange! :) However, it didn't leave a super rich colour and when i tried to re-dye it didn't dye any darker.

Had to dye the garment twice
First time, I followed the instructions of the bottle and my garment went from a light beige to a bluey- gray so the second time I used one full bottle and only 3 liters of water so it makes it really concentrated ( the instructions were half bottle per 3 gallons-11 liters of water) and it did the trick .I would just recommend to use less water than the instructions enough to cover the garment but not more than 4-5 liters I would say for a whole bottle . And make sure it’s at least 60 degrees Celsius hot at all times. I used a stainless steel saucepan and I was putting it on the hob every 15 minutes . I left the garment in ( both times ) for an hour.

Really happy with it!!!
Bought 2 bottles of dye for a 100% polyester dress. I followed the instructions precisely but I used both bottles in a pot 😅 and it worked perfectly. Kept the pot on the stove for 1 hour continuously mixing so the material will get covered and no patches to be present. Make sure you have gloves on, the water kept close to boiling point for the entire process. Then ringed with warm water and out to wash in the washing machine for 30 min at 30 degrees C. Really vibrant colour-green apple! The photo doesn’t do it justice. Will be using again in the future ❤️

Be aware this might not work on man made fabrics
Should have saved my money and bought a new parasol cover.......wasnt very clear in product description that the product needed to be boiled in water with the parasol cover to allow the die to take hold......was obviously concerned about boiling dye spills in the kitchen, as well as how to boil such a large quantity of liquid.........eventually managed to get a solution with a gas stove outdoors, but the fabric still didnt take the dye........its man made fabric, maybe nylon?.......but a complete waste of time and money

Works on synthetic/nylon
Good colourThis is a very good dye. I used it to dye light blue camouflage combat trousers to dark navy. You can still see they camouflage but overall they are a lot darker
