easy to install! works well. i can not believe i waited so long to replace my old one, just limped along for a couple years as I could not afford to hire someone to install a new one ( 1k) then I started watching YouTube and did it myself. saved over 800.

Cost effective and works great with our sprinkler system. Actually, our repair person told me to buy this particular model because it is easy to program & could handle all our zones. Happy customer !

I couldn’t be happier with the Rain Bird smart irrigation controller. The Wi-Fi connectivity is a total game-changer—being able to control and adjust my sprinkler system right from my phone is incredibly convenient. Whether I’m home or away, I can monitor watering schedules, make changes, or even pause irrigation during rainy days. The app is intuitive and user-friendly, and the smart features like weather-based adjustments help save water without me having to think about it. It was surprisingly easy to install and set up too.

This controller is very similar to the beloved old controllers. If you only need a controller, this is your best bet. However, I wanted to upgrade to the wireless/App connectivity, so that I could control it when I was not at home. The wireless module is worthless. I was unable to complete a single task through the App. Once the connection was lost, I had to unplug this controller to reset the connection. I will be replacing the controller with another brand. So sad. I had my old Rainbird controller for 29 years.

The Rain Bird controller has saved me so much running back and forth to the controller to test and time sprinklers! Our controller is in our daylight basement with concrete on 3 sides and walls and doors on the other side. It was a long trek, often muddy, from the controller to a zone to see if sprinklers are working, then back into the house to change zones and check the next zone. Wifi solved everything! The wifi to the controller is as good as if not better than within the house. Our house is 100 feet long and the controller is at one end of it (and like I said, behind concrete), and our lot is 200 feet long, yet I can control the zones from the far end of the property. Takes a few seconds to establish the connection, then from zone to zone it's virtually instant. No more traipsing back and forth from controller to zone, having to take off my shoes (mud, debris) and put them back on. Saves a ton of time. Works perfectly. And you can name your zones if you can't remember which zone is which by the numbers. Go to Edit Controller, then tap on the zones below, and you get a keyboard. And I can adjust everything from my recliner or from the coffee shop or wherever I am, even traveling. I could not be happier with this thing, and I appreciate Rain Bird's attention to quality. I just hope it keeps going, but our previous Rain Bird was 15 years old and performing perfectly -- it just didn't have wifi.

When looking for a timer/controller I wanted one that that had both a phone app and a fully functional control panel - not a lot of choices out there - but this gives both. Note though to get all the functionality out of this unit you need the wifi module and highly recommend the Rainbird Rain (and Temp) sensor. Wifi module lets you control from your phone and allows you to enable the automatic season adjust feature that will update watering time each day (i.e.duration not start/stop times) based on weather forecast (in your zip code). Season adjust works on the forecast and will adjust run times to a minimum of 5% of normal (will never bypass watering altogether - this is common with timers having this feature), so if it monsooned yesterday it will still water - this is why I recommend the Rain Sensor which will completely bypass watering until drier conditions exist. The built in panel is easy to use and read under most lighting conditions and is fairly intuitive. A reference card is included for the most commonly used functions. The phone app has saved me miles of walking to the timer mounted in the garage when adjusting/replacing sprinkler heads. It also provides status of your system and allows you to fine tune on the fly. Installed in 2019 and still happy with my choice with no regrets.

My old RainBird was at least 15 years old. After reading the reviews for this unit I decided to give it a try. So glad I did …. I used all 8 stations …. The instructions are clear cut. The hardest part was disconnecting the old unit. I used a little piece of tape on each wire to mark its station. Very simple …. You can’t go wrong with this unit

Product came with no damage hook up was straight forward we had a 30 year old rain bird controller just go out hopefully this new rainbird will last is long recommend this to all who need this model
