I just got my roll of 1" buddy tape and 1/2" "zen garden pvc grafting tape". does the 1/2" pvc degrade, needs to be removed after the graft takes?

What is the width of the buddy tape, 1'' guaranteed?

I just measured the buddy tape and it is exactly 1 inch, I grafted Apricot, plum, and almond trees and it is holding up well. I also used the tie that was included. One apricot is shooting. Weather has been great for grafting. Ed in LA.

How long is the shelf life of this tape?

Don't know about that for sure but I think it should last years. Keep in a cool dry place out of sun light should help. The thing that bugged me was that the tape is perforated every 4 inches making it hard to do a good wrap with out using lots of short pieces. There was no mention of this when I bought it. Good luck!
