does this require an adhesive to stick or is it self sticking?

it has self-stick adhesive. but it the self-stick not a very agressive adhesive. i used this for boating/exposure to moisture. the adhesive that was on it did not last a day. i re-applied it with a silicone adhesive made just for attaching a product like this: Permatex 81850 Black Super Weatherstrip Adhesive, 5 oz. no problem after re-gluing with the weatherstrip adhesive.

Would this work on the front of a hard top for a suzuki samurai 1987?

Don't know what that is. I sued as gasket material on my 42 ' Sabre boat for the rear cockpit hatch covers. Clean the fiberglass with adhesive remover and the gasket works great

I’m curious why I was sent six of these four of which were made in China and have a giant needle piercing through four layers of the perfect seal?

My purchase was several years ago and I did not search the product for additional “Made in the USA”

Made is usa on two of the six i ordered why? ad says clearly made in usa. china ones have needle through four layers or the seal.
