No wet leather, no cold feet; dry toes and great customer satisfaction. Buy this product - works great. Solid solution!
I tromp through rainy days at farmers' markets, and face all types of weather when I am out working my beehives in San Francisco. Faced with a winter of El Niño coming up, my boots needed some preparation to stand up to the moisture coming my way. After reading the stellar reviews from so many people, I happily slathered Nikwax on my leather slip-on Blundstone boots before the first real rainstorm. Result? No wet leather, no cold feet, dry toes and great customer satisfaction. I applied it liberally, let it dry, wiped off the excess. Great protection! Buy this product to keep the rainwater out, with the leather and your feet warm, dry, and toasty on the inside. Solid product, providing every good thing promised. Buy this without hesitation for waterproofing your boots!Update March 2017 ~ we are still having occasional rains in the Bay Area, so last night before venturing out, I did a quick re coating of my new used Blundstone leather Aussie boots. The waterproofing creams works in so well, and provides such good protection against water, all while providing a great looking finish to the leather. Still consider this to be the most superior product that I've ever used to protect leather, making it impervious to water, while enhancing the preservation of the leather goods themselves.

Excellent Water Proofer
Easy to apply! The application sponge head works well but I found that using my fingers allowed me to get the wax into smaller crevices and work it into the seems and stitching a little better. I probably used a little more wax than I should have because the leather soaked up a lot at first but became saturated and wouldn't accept the last bit I put on. I removed the initial excess about 10 minutes later using a shoe brush and removed the final dry excess the next day. A few days later I took my boots (Schnee Beartooth) on a side by side ride where we had to go across a creek. Water came into the cab a couple inches and my feet stayed absolutely dry, despite the wet exterior of the boots. Water beaded off the leather and fell away.I gave four stars because the wax definitely darkened the leather. I knew this was going to happen and the label in the bottle says this may happen. It also turns roughened leather to a more flattened polished type surface. Good this is the leather still looks nice and can be buffed after the wax drys.

Top notch!
This stuff is great! I have used it on several things, most importantly my Swedish leather hiking backpack. I had an up coming trip to the boundary waters in Canada. My backpack has several leather components, the bottom and straps are all leather. They have seen some good use. I found this product and gave it a shot, It performed excellent! The second day into the trip my friends dog decided we all should go for a swim without warning. Me, the dog and the pack hit the water...we were soaked, the backpack didn't get soggy or take on any water. The leather was in phenomenal shape. I couldn't have asked for better. I now use this on my belts, boots, shoes...whatever I can find that has leather on it. It doesn't discolor and seems to last a long while. Re-application will be needed since it is water based, but it goes on quick, doesn't smell bad, doesn't dis-color and dries within 15 minutes.

Good product
I've been using Nikwax for many years. Only thing I'll use to treat my hiking boots, tents and rain gear.

Best leather waterproof I’ve used by far!
I’ve used Nikwax for decades on my shoes and boots ...And my wife’s expensive Chanel and Hermes shoes, boots, and purses and I t’s never let me down. The trick with waterproofing leather is not to soften or weaken the leather so the boot, shoe, belt, glove, holster, portfolio, purse or harness, retains its color, shape, strength, and support. For years the gold standard was Snow Seal, a bees' wax based treatment that’s still available and effective. However Nikwax is just better. Nikwax applies a little less messy, much faster, with no "melting in" time, almost no drying time. Nikwax dries harder, and lasts longer. While it looks fine with nothing more than hand application, once completely dry it takes a nice sheen with a shoe brush, and you can get a high polish if you finish over it with a paste shoe wax. Compared to Snow Seal, very thin coats are all you need with Nikwax, the carriers and polymers in the formula wick it into the leather very efficiently and are really tough.I've only used it on smooth or rough out leather, it does smooth the rough out over time though not as much as Snow Seal. They make a suede formula but I haven't tried it because suede is really only good for dry weather anyway. It will darken the leather over time, so beware with light colors or tans. Of course a rain soaking will also darken and stain these so...Overall: highly recommended, best solution I've used. I prefer the waxy tube or tin rubbed in by hand, over the liquid bottle and applicator brush, but that's just a personal preference. The suede formula is only available in the liquid. My big tip: several thin coats are much, much better than one heavy coat.

It works
Use this to waterproof my briefcase. Not greasy or sticky. Didn't really change the color, maybe a little darker.
