Overall this is a great kit, worth the money, and I would recommend it to any friends/family that asked. That being said one of the smaller wooden rings was broken upon arrival. But there are still five more and I'm not going to whine to the seller, but I just want to report exactly what I received. Accidents happen, items can get damaged in shipping, etc. Life happens. The scissors are the Japanese style I used to use on my bonsai trees. I had no intention of using them, but I tested them on the included string just to report my experience. They can't cut the string without quite a bit of effort. A lot of effort, which is a safety issue. A pair of scissors from the dollar store (or Amazon) will serve MUCH better. I threw them in the trash. There are a fair number of beads of various sizes. One bag each of large and small painted/coated beads, maybe five dozen in all, and 1 bag each of plain wood, small/medium/large. Probably about the same number of beads as the painted ones. The seamstress tape will come in handy; much better than using a rigid tape measure. There was a card included that showed how to make various knots (you may need a magnifier to see some of the details), but there were no actual included plans for projects. The card also has a QR code that you can scan from your camera to be taken to a YouTube video. There is no printed web address, email, phone, or physical address. Only the QR code. When I opened the site on my iPhone it showed me a video by somebody named "wang wang" (trust me, I couldn't make that up) and the 25 min video had 334 views. In a foreign language (I believe maybe Korean by the letters?) but there are English subtitles. I closed it. I'll find better videos on my own. The kit included 6 wooden dowels, 3/8" diameter; 3 are 6" and 3 are 8". There were also two metal "S" hooks and a large plastic stitching needle included. So that's it in a nutshell. Since I don't know anything about macrame yet, I can't give you an expert opinion. But overall, I'm very pleased with what I received and figure it's a great way to relax while finding a way to hang more plants in my cabin and pick up a hobby I had over 40 years ago.

This had everything I needed to start making my own plant hangers instead of buying them pre-made — the 3mm cord is a good thickness, easy to knot without being so thin it’s fiddly or so thick it’s hard to work with. 109 yards was plenty to make several hangers with cord left over. The included beads and wooden rings were a nice touch, gave the finished hangers a more finished, boutique look instead of plain knotted cord. Good kit for a beginner — the cord holds knots well without slipping, so patterns stay tight and even as you go. With as many plants as I have in the house, being able to make custom hangers in the exact length I need (rather than settling for whatever’s pre-made) has been genuinely useful.

Decent little kit. Sadly, the scissors are very dull. Other than this, it makes for a good beginner kit. It comes with all the bare necessities needed to make your first macramé project successfully.

This is a great kit for the price... the perfect starter kit!

I am a beginner Macrame artist and I got this kit because it had a lot of cord and beads etc to work with. It also advertised directions but the directions are not great and I had to resort to the internet to learn some of the knots I wanted to learn
