Godefroy Hair Color Tint Kit, Medium Brown, 20 Applications, Root Touch-Up

Easy to use and the color came out very nice and natural. I’m happy with the results and would buy it again.

I have been using this product for about 6 months now and am very happy with the results. I have dark blonde hair and ordered the medium brown kit, and the results are very natural looking. I once read somewhere that blondes should use two shades darker than hair color and brunettes use two shades lighter. I'm not sure if this is still valid, but I followed it and it worked. The tint lasts completely for about two weeks, but it obviously looks best/most saturated immediately after application. It will dye your skin, and that part will last for a few days as well. I follow the directions on the packaging, although they are a bit vague, so to elaborate: -Have a bunch of q-tips, one wet and one dry paper towel or washcloth (you don't mind staining) nearby your "station" -When mixing the powder with the developer, I first dump the contents of one capsule into the mixing bowl. Then squeeze enough developer over the powder so it is completely covered in a thin layer. Mix with the brush so the resulting cream is consistently colored with few to no brown specs of powder remaining. If your mixture is still very speckled, add a bit more developer cream. All of the cream should turn uniformly brown, so if yours looks like cookies n cream, you may need to adjust. Once mixed, I let it sit for a minute or two to ensure the developer is activated. -I have densely packed eyebrow hair, so for the first application I run the brush against the direction of hair growth to get in between the cracks and at the base of the brow hairs. Once it's packed in, I'll brush in the direction of the hair grown as if I were filling in my brows. -Your first few applications, wipe off with the wet paper towel after about a minute to see how much pigment your skin/hair picks up and to evaluate for any skin sensitivity. I have very sensitive skin, and do not notice irritation unless I left the product on for longer than 3 minutes (irritation meaning a slight burning sensation). -I typically apply 3-4 coats on each eyebrow, cleaning up the edges along the way with a q-tip. It works best to press the q-tip along the edges of your brow bone to follow the natural curve of your brows. -I've never used up entire capsule/developer batch of the tint in one sitting, so don't worry about running out or applying too many coats. It's always easier to add more than to try to take away (although it does fade pretty quickly and could probably be scrubbed off with dish soap). I've been applying every 1-2 weeks or so, and it's really cut down on the amount of time and product I spend on my brows every day. I still need to fill in the tails as mine are pretty sparse and the tint usually fades from my skin relatively soon after the application.

I've been using this product for over a year now and I really like the results I get. I've gone the professional route with tinting and shaping my brows and while it looks better than what I can do myself (due to skill, not the product), I can't get over how much it costs for how short it lasts. In my experience, this product leaves my brows tinted for just as long as the professional stuff but at a fraction of the cost. The kit comes with an angled brush is perfect for application and 20 individual dye capsules. I always have more product than needed left over since I only dye my brows. One of my brows is shorter than the other so I do extend the dye past my hairs to make it match. It will dye the skin but it only stays for 3 days max. If you have this problem, dye it the day before your event so the skin is still dyed. The brow hairs stayed dyed up to a week. It says 6 weeks on the box but washing your face every day will make it fade faster. Tips: Use Vaseline around your eyebrows to keep the dye from soaking into the wrong parts of your skin. Have Q-tips handy and a paper towel. I typically wipe my brows with rubbing alcohol before I start. For timing, I tint in 1-minute intervals to ensure it doesn't get too dark and looks natural. I start the application tail first, then move to the middle and finally apply to the beginning of my brow for a more natural look. I have dark brown hair so the goal is to keep it 1-2 shades lighter than my natural color so I don't look like a cartoon. Pros: Affordable, easy to use, lasts as long as the professional dyes. Cons: Excess product wasted, does not last anywhere close to 6 weeks as advertised.

I’m posting this under my husbands account, as his was the account I used to purchase. I am a woman, my name is Lauren. I have light/medium freckle skin with dyed bright red hair. My natural eyebrows are sparse, and a light/medium ash brown color. I’m leaving this review after two separate applications. It arrived on March 31st, and I did the application the very next day. I only noticed yesterday that they were totally back to my natural color and looking sparse again, prompting a reapplication tonight (May 10th) so the first application lasted just over 5 weeks for me, with almost daily makeup wear, daily face washing with an electric rotating face brush, Elizabeth Arden toner lotion, and Pond’s Rejuveness Anti Wrinkle Cream. That’s pretty goodlenght of time, all things considered. The first application was much darker than expected, and definitely an ash brown. I was a bit shocked at the severity and it did take a few days to get used to. I did three minutes on each brow. I was hoping for more of a red-brown, but oh well. It took several days for the color to chill out. I remember they were still pretty dark on Easter when my mom came to visit and she mentioned something about my eyebrows lol. Once the color relaxed, they looked very nice, better “filled in” and pretty natural. It definitely took time off my makeup routine because I didn’t have to fill in my brows as much as before. This product does stain the skin under the hairs for a while, which, for me, was a good thing. This second application, tonight, I did things a bit different. First, I only worked on one eyebrow at a time. I also added about 1/4 tsp of water to the powder/developer mixture hoping it would chill the color out a bit. It worked. I applied in one brow quickly, set my 3 minute timer, and wiped off. Absolutely perfect. Moved on to the next brow, repeat. The results were not as harsh, easier to control, and evenly colored on both brows. I do suggest a good waxing/plucking or even use one of those eyebrow razors beforehand to clean up the hairs above your brows, trim, etc. otherwise you’ll have babyfine hairs being dyed along with your actual eyebrows, and that’s not a good look. Overall I give the product 4 stars. If it is available in a more red-brown, I will try that for sure.

I used to pay to get my brows tinted but always felt I’d do the shape better on my own, and I was right! I have naturally light brown hair but regularly dye it a reddish and other colors. This shade is perfect for me, if u leave it on too long it can be a bit dark but after a day and a shower it really softens them. I love this product it’s easy and I have been using it since last summer and I still have plenty of product left. If I was to consistently keep up with it I would do it about every 2 weeks maybe 3 depending. When I use this I refrain from wetting my face in the shower or going under water and when I wash my face I stay away from my brows mostly, I just comb them through. They last for a long time for me if I avoid getting them wet as best I can. But I also love this product for vacations and summer when you want your brows to be clean and neat without having to wear makeup. I use this regularly and swear by it. I usually wipe off the front of the brows at the recommended time so they don’t look boxy and leave the ends of my brows on for a few minutes longer than it suggests. I recommend out lining the brows in Vaseline the first time u do it before u get the hang of it to really achieve the shape u want.

I’ve been paying $25-30 to have my eyebrows dyed every two weeks for two years or so. After having them done so many times, I realized how easy the process is and wondered if I could do it myself and found this kit. I will never go to the salon again. This kit was so incredibly easy to use and I was so impressed by the results that it made me sick to my stomach how much money I’ve been wasting over the years getting my eyebrows done professionally. Full disclosure: I do not work in the beauty industry. I struggle to put on eyeliner as a 25 year old, so I can do this correctly, anyone can. I followed the instructions closely and the tips that I saw online to start applying the dye to the middle of the eyebrow back, then working your way to the start of the brows near the nose. It creates a natural effect and looks a little more even. I have pretty light blonde hair, so I only left the dye on for 2 minutes and was pleased with the results. I applied the dye by using a brow brush and then filling in any gaps with the angled brush that came with the kit. My first time around, I wiped the dye off quickly with a cotton ball with rubbing alcohol on it, but didn’t really scrub. I realized that I hadn’t gotten all the dye out several minutes later when I saw that they were a shade darker. It wasn’t a huge deal, but once I scrubbed my eyebrows with a little dove body wash, the dye was totally out and they remained the same medium brown shade. It’s been a week since I dyed my brows and they still have great, even color. With purchasing this dye, I also purchased a 50 pack of disposable mascara wands to apply the dye and found that those worked better than the brush included in the kit, especially for the start of my brows near my nose.

Edited to say that I originally bought these in 2020 and they lasted me 6 years, but since then I have started using apps like Yuka to know what ingredients are in products and limit the carcinogens I put on & in my body and these unfortunately rate horribly on there. If that matters to you then I would not buy these as there is a clean alternative out there that works just as good if not better. —I last purchased this item in October of 2020 and they have lasted me until now so I’ll share my tips! I carefully twist the capsules apart and only use about a 4th or 3rd of the product at a time. Once it’s mixed with the developer, I walk away from it for about 4 or 5 minutes and it kind of expands during that time, that’s when I know it’s completely melded and ready. I will note, these seemed stronger when they were fresher, meaning I would basically apply 1st eyebrow, do 2nd eyebrow, wipe 1st quickly, etc. and repeat that process if necessary, and I have absolutely ended up looking like one of those angry mushrooms from Mario Bros a time or two! As I’ve gotten down to these last few capsules, so 6 years later, they have lost a little strength and are much more forgiving so I can do both brows and let them sit for a minute or 2 before I wipe off now. I got the medium brown! I try to keep them natural looking (the longer you leave dye on the more your skin behind the hair will also be dyed and look less natural) My brows are naturally more of a dark blonde as you can see! TLDR: less is more, try the apply wipe apply wipe method until you’re comfortable.

Been using this for 5+ years! I am extremely picky and never liked how my eyebrows turned out when I got them tinted by someone so I started doing it myself! Easy to use and the best way I would tell ppl to use this is to go slow. I do one application on each eyebrow wait a bit, wipe it off and go again until I like how dark they are. Don’t put it on and just leave it bc it will get really dark (unless that’s the look you’re going for), I just find going one application at a time always turns out the most natural :) There is plenty of product too in one capsule and the developer always lasts a long time, I always add a generous amount bc there is a lot of it. Just an amazing product!

Omg, this is fantastic. I have very fair eyebrows and so I had to do them 3 times. I started the first 2 tries at 1.5 mins each and then did a final 1 min. They are fantastic. Wicked wicked product, soooooooooo easy to use - no more going to the salon and paying a fortune. Highly highly recommend.

Awesome kit! Never used powdered dye before but it is very easy to mix and apply. The powder can go a long way! With showering/washing my face twice a day, I need to apply this every 2.5-3 weeks
