Quite possibly one of the nicest things I have ever purchased on Amazon - and I shop a lot here. It is beautifully made, and a lot of thought has been put into how it could very easily become a family heirloom down the road. The color is rich and warm, the leather is soft and succulent and feels good to the touch. The paper is intentionally a soft white that mirrors what you might expect to find in something aged - it is beautiful and will become a keepsake at the very least. To address negative comments head on: Yes - the leather does smell - but I did not find it overpowering - but instead, what should be expected from a quality leather item. There was no bleed-through of color from the leather at all, and with some gentle maneuvering of the leather cover, writing on the pages inside was quite simple. A beautiful gift that no doubt will be cherished.

We gave these to our grandchildren and our daughter for Christmas and they thought the design was beautiful and loved them. The leather was very nice and the heavy lined pages will make them nice journals. The binding straps make it sturdy and easy to hang onto when carrying it. It was a good book sized journal.

Just get it, the leather is real, it smells very good and it feels great. You don't have to worry about the pages coming out. leather strings hold it in place, I ordered a few and given some as gifts. Everybody loves it.

I had purchased a different brand about a year ago. I was happy with it but wanted a new look for my next journal. I’m so glad I chose this one. For me I need to see something inviting before I can start writing. This one works for me. The only reason for four stars is personal. For me it has one to many sections of paper. There are 5 inserts and 4 would make it lay flatter and easier to write. I’m sure the majority of people would prefer the extra paper. This is very nice quality and for me perfect value for the money.

IT HAD NO AWFUL CHEMICAL SMELL, THE PAGES ARE REALLY NICE, THE VINTAGE LOOK OF THE LEATHER IS AWESOME, AND IT'S HANDMADE! I'VE ALSO WROTE IN THE BACK SECTION WHERE I AM DIVIDING OUT PAGE GROUPS ( PRAYER PAGE, BOOKS READ, GOSLS PAGE ETC..) AND WRITING WAS NOT AS DIFFICULT AS REVIEWS MADE IT IUT TO BE. . IN FACT, I DIDN'T HAVE ANY TROUBLE. BEAUTIFUL PRODUCT!!! CAN'T WAIT TO START DAILY JOURNALING!!!
