I really enjoyed this how-to-draw book. The creatures and monsters were adorable and they had some fun facts about most of them throughout the book. The book also had some drawing and coloring tips at the beginning, which I thought was great. I also think this book is easier to follow than other how-to-draw books, though I have some decent drawing experience so I can't say for certain how well someone with little to no drawing experience would do. I tried drawing some of the monsters myself and they turned out pretty well thanks to how easy the guides were to follow. All in all, I think this is a fun drawing book and would make a great gift to a friend or family member who loves to draw. This book is so cute with the fun facts and the wide range of monster types and body styles available. It’s a great starting point for designing your own style. I initially purchased this because I love how the artist draws puffy luxurious fur, and while the Chibi animal book is great, it doesn’t quite have the diversity in animal parts that this one does, and how to connect them. A definite benefit to this drawing book is that it never tells you to “just finish the owl”. Each step is easily replicable even for people like me who are very out of practice, and the style is easy to remix into your own preferences. The Top mothman is done following the tutorial, and the bottom is my first attempt at putting my own spin on it. And the subject matter makes practicing so fun! The only (minor) complaint I have is on eyes. A lot of creatures are drawn with closed eyes, which feels a little lazy to me. You will need to supplement with other books if you want to get good at giving your monsters open eyes. I usually hate the style in how to draw books, but this one is stinking cute from the first page to the last. Amazing work!

Very informative. Good instructions

This book includes adorable creatures and stap by step instructions on how to draw them. While it's a perfect gift for a middle school girl who likes to draw cute things, I actually bought it for myself because it was so cute.

I got the first book, which was regular animals to learn how to draw chibi easier than having to hunt and peck through the internet for the critter I want. When I saw she had a second book, I had to snap it up. I’m not disappointed! All the magnificent mythical critters in a cute, easy to draw, little package. I would recommend for kids as well as adults. Very easy to follow instructions.

I collect "how to draw" books, mostly for the art that's in them and let me just say... this is easily the cutest one I own. To the point where me and my mom are even wanting a couple of the lil guys tattooed on us. I highly recommend for the artwork alone, but there's also detailed step by steps on how to make them yourself. So as far as a how to book goes this is well done in that aspect also. I definitely recommend getting this and I'll be looking into what other books the creator has made.

All 60 of these animals are also in another collection I have, which has 100 animals. I thought they might be different, but this book is completely redundant. There is also one out there with 75 animals...which appears to also be redundant. So, you probably want to get one of the other books that is more completely and you definitely don't want to get both.

I'm in love with all of Phoebe's art guide books, and this one is probably my favorite. Not only are the guides easy to follow, she includes how to modify your drawings easily (different expressions/eyes, adding accessories, changing stance of the creature, etc.) I'm not an artist, but her books are so easy to follow and they are so cute--my 8 year old and I love drawing these together.

The book is very well made, I love chibi style and this artist is extremely good at it, probably one of the best imho. The design of the book itself is simple but professional, I absolutely adore the layout they used from the cover to the inside. There is a large variety of creatures and they're all adorable, I was expecting more tips/guides for facial expressions and body poses tho but I'm still satisfied with this purchase. I would totally recommend to buy this book, worth the money.
