Beginners Palm Set

I bought these for myself as a christmas present. The presentation is wonderful in a nice wooden box. The chisels are sharp, but a quick touch on the strop and they are ready to use. The fit and finish of these is A+ all the way around, from the keen edge that they take and hold, to the comfortable way they fit in your hand. These are excellent tools and something that you will have in your shop for a long time.

I love this carving kit from Flexcut. It came recommended from our Printmaster/Professor at College of Charleston, so I knew I could trust the brand’s quality. I saw a neat deal where the premium set was actually cheaper than the deluxe set, not sure why maybe quantity? Anyway, the premium set has the smoothest palm handles, I love them more bc I have small hands lol. But they cut beautifully for relief printing in birch and basswood. I also bought the sharpening kit to keep the blades top-notch, so I definitely recommend getting both for best results. I used them for printmaking and for an Islamic Art Class that required a wood-carving unit — my tools ended up being sharper and more effective than the tools the Art History Professor brought for community use. I actually had other students borrowing MY flexcut set under wary supervision (I’m very possessive and protective of my art tools, and very distrusting of other human beings lol). These are superb, if you can swing them, get them.
