I would think that a camera would be too heavy for that scope, particularly on the supplied tripod. I haven't tried it yet, but, an eyepiece camera should work, although you might not get the whole sun, depending on the camera.

Can this be use as a regular telescope

No. It has a built in solar filter. It can only be used for direct observation of the Sun. It does have an eyepiece mount, so you could use eyepieces from another telescope to change the magnification factor, but the primary aperture of this telescope is a solar filter that cannot be removed.

The description says that the dual-lens solar filter is permanently mounted. Does that mean it can't be removed to see the eclipse in totality?

That is correct. I assume that's a safety feature. having your eye at the eyepiece when totality ends could be very dangerous if the filter were not in place. I plan to have a camera in place to photograph totality. I have also purchased an adapter that will allow me to use my iPhone with the EclipSmart Solar Telescope. That way others who are with me can see what the telescope is seeing. I hope this helps.

Can you use the Celestron NexImage 10MP - Solar System Imager with this telescope?

This telescope has a solar filter integrated and is designed only to watch the coming solar eclipse or sunspots by eye. Tripod is weak to carry any camera and the picture will be poor. One would need a much better tripod and an adapter to connect any imager or a camera.
