Change in construction materials.
Be advised that the latches are no longer metal but are now plastic. Reached out to a supplier before ordering and was told the Wolfpack pro latches were metal and when they arrived they are in fact plastic. May not be a problem now but after a lot of use and the pressure needed to close the latches they may break. Beware!

Waterproof as long as you don't open it.
Paid top dollar for 2 of these well made boxes, used for traveling. Keeps stuff dry while closed, but you have to be very careful opening a wet box lest water makes it way inside - not good for a waterproof box. I'm not careless, but it seems to me the cover should be designed to be careless-proof and shunt water away from the inside. I thought about returning them, but shipping between CA to NH was $35 so decided to suck it up. There's probably better options out there...

Beware Wolf pack pro is not waterproof in the jungle!
I used a pair of Wolf Pack Pros on my front runner rack in Costa Rica and in heavy rain the contents were soaked. The clothes and tools stored inside were not damaged but I was surprised by the amount of water inside. Possibly because the case is not vented water is drawn in when the warm case is hit by cool rain. I don’t recommend this product exposed to hot and humid environments where it rains often. Also, once your equipment gets wet in these environments it is a pain to dry it out.For roof mounted cases in the tropics I recommend pelican or nanuk cases. They are vented and have much better sealing properties.I do use them inside the vehicle for which they work great

Great but pricey
I use these when truck camping. Carries all my gear and keeps it dry. The price tag is a little steep, though (and you have to pay for shipping).

Very weak hinges. Thin cheap plastic.
First latch broke in the first week while opening the top to get gear out. Second latch broke about 6 months later. Thin cheap plastic for the price point. I like the size and how it stacks neatly with other boxes. If your not picky on looks. There are better quality boxes for less.

Buy once, cry once.
I bought this over the old version as it’s air tight and dust free. The handle could be a little difficult to open if it’s not properly align. The handle itself is solid - aluminum. I have a drawer system in my vehicle and this end up replacing it. Easy to remove and store after a trip. Freed up a lot of dead space.
