K1716-VP Linear Taper Potentiometer, 5K Ohm, 2-Watt, 1/4" Shaft, 28 mm Diameter (Pack of 2)

Worked great for repairing my race car arcade machine steering.

We ordered 4 of these potentiometers just in case one was damaged during shipping. All 4 came in 1 paper envelope not protected, and all 4 are faulty. We hooked up our Ohm meter and found the first 30% of the sweep range measured no change, then the meter showed the readings go up to 5K Ohms, and for the last 20-25 percent there was also no ohm reading change. They varied a bit from "pot" to "pot", but they are all defective. We will be throwing these out and buying replacements elsewhere. Save your money and do the same.

I don't want to be disappointed with these pots but I am. They seem very well made but are not very accurate, across the full sweep. The first half provides a gradual change in resistance then after half way it goes wide open.

Bought this to replace another K1716 potentiometer that went bad. It has about 10 degrees from off to fully on. So just beware when you buy.

The resistance varies in less than 90 degrees of rotation. Fine control is impossible.

it is logarithmic taper - I looked it up on the manufacturer's www site: is TYPE Eit is a good product, just not as advertised / wanted. ordered one direct from manufacturer to ensure i get what I need.
