Awesome little mount!
Great things come in small packages. I searched high and low for a shotgun mount and I was only so lucky to find this one in the end. CDM has several innovative mounts, but the MOD-C indeed was perfect for my needs. It has a very sleek design, VERY low profile, and provides magazine stability in addition to the weaponlight mount. The latest kits come with a thin rubber (0.025" I guess) spacer which acts as a shim/spacer between the mount and a 1" light. The larger G2 light bodies apparently were too big, so they bored them out. If you ask me, the Streamlight and other 1" lights would be best because this space is not only a spacer it helps increase friction between the mount and the light body. This is the same technique CDM now employs for the mounts between the mag body and barrel and that of the mount itself. This improves friction, avoids slippage during firing, and protects the barrel's finish. Great thinking CDM. You took an amazing product and then made it even better!!

Light, not bulky and flashlight pretty close to barrel. I like that
UPDATE. The screw that holds the two pieces together around the barrel has a very small allen head, around 2mm so it is very dificult to tight it strong enough. After 10 rounds it came completelly loose. I installed a new screw with allen head number 4 and loctite thread locker. By doing so. the screw can be tighten strongly and the loctite add extra safety. This mount seems to be pretty well done. Construction is solid and very well finished. Fit around the barrel and shells storage tube is not 100%. overall I like it a lot. The only thing that it is a bit concerning to me is the size of the allen key used in one of the two screws, in the one that tight the mount to the shotgun. too small. Pictures show the mount on my Mossberg 590 mariner before and after I painted DFE. I choose this mount because I like the flashlight to the left of the barrel and not bellow. It is also less bulky than other mounts and keeps the flash light very close to the barrel. Does not stick out too much.

Best Piece yet
So here's the lay down. I've been looking for a great way to mount a light to my rem870 and I've looked at every different situation which varied from grabbing the surefire grip to mesa clamp to the other plastic BS on the market. The truth is, is this is the best piece you can get for the money. It's made of all metal no plastic holds a surefire perfect and comes with little sheets of spacers that you put between the clamp and the barrel. It's also designed so one side is a little large because of the bottom buffer tube is slightly bigger so pay attention to that when your clamping or the screw won't catch the other side. This is better than plastic because the plastic pieces usually eventually give out after 20rnds. This is a strong grab and a little blue loctite and your set. The surefire forend style would cost about 350 for the LED version so this being around 50 + 120 surefire prey light and your set. And at least you could take the light off and use it alone or move the clamp area up and down the frontend of the barrel. Excellent piece for your shotgun! Get it!

Well made. Finished well. Light weight. But ...
Well made. Finished well. Light weight. But this unit will not work on a Versa Max competition tactical shotgun without a lot of sanding & grinding. I'm still working on my mine to get it to work.

Nice mount - easy to install on my Winchester 1200 Defender
10 minute install. Make sure to use the supplied pads. I had to wrap my Streamlight 88030 ProTac 1L flashlight with some electrical tape to get a proper fit with this mount but the end result looks nice and seems to be an acceptable fit (i.e. no flashlight movement within the mount).

Material wise the mount is great and it's very sturdy on the gun
I don't know why the product description says it doesn't fit 590A1's, because it fit mine. Material wise the mount is great and it's very sturdy on the gun. However I ended up returning it because it causes my flashlight to be so close to the gun barrels that I basically had a wall of shadow on one side when the light was on. Also I noticed it was starting to scratch the parkerized finish on the barrels.

Does what it should.
Using it on my Winchester SXP. Fits nicely but be warned that if you have this same shotgun the flashlight you use needs to be relatively short or the pump handle hits in the up stroke. I have the Surefire G2X Pro Dual Output LED Flashlight, Black and it just fits while not sticking too far out front of the barrel. I think the price is a little high for what it is (hence the one star off) but I don't have many options as the SXP has very few aftermarket accessories. Good buy over all.

Falls off my 870 after 10 rounds or so.
This product is easy to install, and works well, for the first few shots. However no matter how much I tighten the screw, the mount falls off my Remington 870 after 10 rounds or so. I gave it two stars because this might be fine on a home defense shotgun, that will stay in the closet, and not be used except in a worst case scenario. That said, the product dose not stand up to use in training.
