I only need protection to just above the wrist. Can these be cut down without unraveling?

To be honest I don't know. It looks like they will not unravel when cut. I am basing my response on the type of material that is used.

About what the picture shows. Little darker then tan and not flesh tone, unless you have a dark sun tan. If you're old enough, what nylons use to look like.

They are fairly thin so they won't really prevent bruises if there's a lot of pressure (a bite). Good for scratches and light pressure
