3M Ultra Headlight Restoration Kit -39195

I saw this demonstrated on YouTube - and was a bit dubious it was going to work as well as it appeared to in the video. The headlights it was applied to were on a 2006 Golf - which had failed its MoT (for several reasons including because of the clarity / light output from the headlights). The application process was straightforward. Everything you need is in the kit, with the exception of an electric drill - and the results were AMAZING; headlights looked like they'd been replaced, not just "polished up a bit".

Very good headlight kit. Tried for the first time after watching a YouTube clip. Took me about an hour in total including drying time for the restorer. The pictures do not do it justice for how yellow it was before, now the car looks much better.

This is a great product. If you follow the instructions, especially more sanding with the 500 and 800 grit pads, you will get results. My headlights were actually worse than pictured in the before photo as i tried toothpaste and baking powder first. These methods took a bit of the grime and damage off but essentially didnt work. The kit isnt cheap but works! Now i just need to buy more of the wipes and apply every 12 months to maiintain the protective coat! 10/10

Good but could be better. Easy to use and finish relatively good as well. The only downside is the amount of sanding discs supplied with it. Buy more in preparation. Happy overall but this product could be better

I couldn't believe how effective this product was , got rid of the yellow cloudy marks off the lights, and easy to do. Would definitely recommend and purchase again if needed to

This is a truly amazing product what a transformation couldn’t believe the results . Just stood back in amazement wow !! .

What a great kit! Ive no experience with this, but its so satisfying. Im actually questioning my life choices and might just do this full time! 🤣 U just buff and buff and buff with your electric drill, then wash it down and wipe it over with a special cloth. Everything is provided except the electric drill. Even a nice blue glove to make u feel all professional. Like a manicure for your car! I forgot to take before photos, but they were so bad I was considering changing out the whole lights. Saved me a fortune.

This kit is amazing. I rarely write reviews but this restoration pack is phenomenal. It take a little bit of work, but the results speak for themselves. 20 year old Z4 headlights look like new!

Die gute Nachricht ist, es funktioniert. Insbesondere das Coating korrigiert die letzten Fehler, die im Scheinwerferglas noch sichtbar sind. Um genauer zu arbeiten, wäre gerade es bei einem größeren Scheinwerfer sinnvoll, wenn man mit den Schleifpads nicht so knauserig wäre. Schließlich kostet das Set dann doch einiges an Geld, aber zwei Pads pro Arbeitsgang mehr wären schon eine Beruhigung. Dazu halte ich ein Polierpad und eine Headlight Politur für sinnvoll, wenn es richtig gut werden soll. Mit den beiden Coating Tüchern kann man auch die Rückleuchten behandeln. Die Menge reicht dafür aus. Es macht also Sinn, die Rückleuchten vorab zu reinigen, bevor man mit dem Coating anfängt. Der beiliegende Gummihandschuh ist eine gute Idee und auch notewndig, zwei wären besser. Meine Empfehlung: Alle Arbeitsgänge naßschleifen.

I have not tried every restoration system out there, so I cannot state that this is the best system, but I can tell you that this is a solid solution that you will be happy with. To level set, no restoration kit will ever restore your headlight lenses to factory new condition. But this one gets them close. For the same reasons, I cannot state that this kit is the best value, but I can say that anything that works well at any price is a better value than something that does not work well at a lower price. One of the chief complaints of headlight restoration kits is that the restoration does not last. That's because most of the kits out there attempt to "fill in" the scratches, and eventually that filler washes out, disintegrates, or whatever. This kit actually polishes the plastic to *remove* the scratches. As such, the process takes longer and is more fiddly. The extra effort though results in a better looking and longer lasting result. I bought this kit 2 years ago, and my headlights look as good as the day I finished using the kit. The results you will get will depend on your patience and your willingness to understand and follow the instructions exactly. Read the directions carefully, do exactly what they say, for as long as they say. I spent - if I recall - about 45 minutes on each headlight. - Your headlights will look much worse initially, and you may think you are doing more harm than good. Don't be paranoid. Complete the course, finish all the steps. Once you get through the first two grits, each step after that will look better and better. - The instructions will warn you to avoid lingering in one spot with the power drill. That warning worried me, but it's really easy to avoid, and you can tell when you're doing it right. Be gentle, don't push too hard, and keep moving. - It may also look like they haven't given you enough of the different polishing pads, but my headlights are huge and I had extras. - Mask carefully, because you will run off the edge of the headlights and you don't want to scratch your paint. If you wear down the masking tape, stop and apply more. - When it comes time to wipe on the polymer, again, do it exactly as they tell you. Exactly. You only get just enough to get it done and you only get one shot to make it look right. Make sure you are fully prepped before tearing open the packet. - Do this in a garage or in the shade. Anyway, that's my advice. You won't be disappointed with this kit.
