I simple speaker audio upgrade at great price and quality
I decided to rewire my entire Atmos surround 7.2 setup because they actually improved the sound of my old front speakers, before they got replaced with Martin Logan Motion 40i's. I did a little pre-wiring with the installGear 14 Gauge and stoped with just the front left cables replaced and waiting for the higher quality speakers to come in. I immediately noticed a change in sound from left and right speakers. The left speaker was more "concise" and clearer. I thought that I broke something. It was a no-brainer. I bought an extra 50 feet of cable, pulled out all the old copper clad and/or 16-18 gauge that went to the other 6 speakers and replaced it all. They all sounded better. I also decided to run extra cables to the front left And right to do some bi-wirimg to add icing to the cake. In the end, I'm not saying that any other 14 Gauge cable would not do something similar, but it did improve the sound and was easy to work with and install. I would absolutely recommend. Great quality and price.

Great speaker cable.
Good quality. Many very thin strands make it very pliable and easy to route.

Decent budget cable for indoor use (see CCA description/warning below). Conditionally recommended
I had an event where I needed to temporarily drive some outdoor Definitive Technology AW 6500s from an Onkyo receiver sitting inside. I got two spools of InstallGear 14 Gauge AWG 100ft Speaker Wire Cable - White. First of all, the InstallGear wire was available with next-day Prime. Beyond that, the price was low and the wire gauge was sufficient. My install really couldn't have been any easier. I took each spool, and used it in its entirety for each channel. I terminated them with some tool-less Sewell banana plugs. The InstallGear wire has an extremely soft insulator, which is good and bad. It was good from the standpoint of stripping the insulator for attaching the interconnects. It was bad in that the wire doesn't really hold a shape when you're coiling it. I first unspooled the wire, and then tried to wrap it into a coil. Really, the ideal installation would be permanent - either around the room, or in-wall. The reason why this cable is so cheap, is because it's CCA. Solid, oxygen-free copper is significantly more expensive. In addition to the cost differences, there are electrical property differences, too. Now, from standpoint of audio quality, there really aren't differences. I'm an engineer, and I can make that statement with a detailed knowledge of the physical properties of both kinds of cable. That said, CCA is worse for other reasons. First, the current carrying capacity of CCA is lower than copper - if you aren't pulling large power through the cable, you won't notice a difference. For reference, it's about the equivalent of 16ga copper wire. Second, CCA will not handle outdoor or high-humidity environments well, as it is prone to corrosion. Third, the perceived value of CCA versus copper comes from a same-to-same comparison of conductor diameter... but since you have to go up one or two levels of wire gauge for equivalence, CCAs advantage worsens. Does any of that matter? Well, if you're running small speakers indoors, I'd say that you will probably never know the difference. If you're running large, unpowered speakers, you shouldn't be looking at this wire, anyway. However, if you just need some basic speaker cable, this will do the job (in most situations). (16 gauge, 100 feet) Flexible and high quality, I couldn't be more pleased!
I bought this cable to replace some speaker cables on my computer; I had originally used some cheap solid doorbell wire I found laying around my shop, and while it worked okay, I didn't like the look or feel of it. I wanted something better, and I also wanted something I could use to carry DC power if I needed it. When this cable arrived, my first thought was "Uh-oh. 16 gauge might be a bit too large for my application..." I thought I'd try it anyhow. I'm not an audio professional by any means, but I know that thicker wire can be better, so I decided to go for it. I am glad I did! Right after unwrapping the roll (simple cling wrap), I could feel the cable, and it's texture was amazing. Once I undid the end (held on by a piece of tape), I could see why: The insulation was so supple, so soft; If I didn't know better, I'd swear it was silicone insulated cable. Seriously, that's what it felt like! Like I had something in my hands that would easily exceed 4x what I paid! It made it a joy to work with; I measured out 2 arm spreads (I didn't need much), cut it off, then folded it in half and cut it in two equal lengths. I used my trusty pair of small dikes, but I swear you probably could cut it with scissors (though the metal wire might stop you there, or at least damage the scissors). It was easy to split down the middle, strip off a half-inch or so of insulation, twist to bind it (I may wick some solder on later, or get some crimp ferrules), then hook it up to my speakers. The cable was easy to drape and route behind my desk to my subwoofer-amp, no binding or anything like that. Seriously, this cable is grade-A stuff in my non-professional opinion. I also don't see it having any problem with wear, though others have expressed doubts; the insulation is supple, but not thin. I believe it could take a lot to compromise it. Just don't overheat it (again, it isn't silicone, but it sure feels like it). If you need extra protection, put it inside some spiral wrap or something. There are plenty of products out there for that application. Finally, not only did it install easily and feel great, but it's easy on the eyes, too. The red and black insulation is just slightly translucent, and the wire inside shimmers. But it's not distracting. Rather it's muted, matte in texture; in a way, it looks how it feels: Smooth, supple, unassuming; yet seeming to indicate it's much better than anything else out there. I found that it looks much better with my system than the inflexible white doorbell junk I was using before; that kind of wire has it's purpose, but it's not for speakers. This cable only has one downside that I can see, and that's easily remedied: The spool doesn't have any easy way to stow the loose end. Of course you can tuck under a previous wrap, but what I'd do is drill a hole on the edge of the spool to tuck the end into. You could also use a zip tie, or a twist tie. It's such a minor thing, but I thought I'd mention it. Overall, I don't think you'll be disappointed in this cable after everything I've noted. Give it a shot, you may fall in love with it as much as I have!

Really Good Speaker Wire
UPDATE 5/3/18: Purchased a 2nd 100" roll. Great speaker wire. Original Review: Although it's typical to use 16 and 18 gauge speaker wire to hook up your speakers you really should use a heavier gauge. The heavier gauge helps to reduce losses on long runs and helps to ensure low-frequency damping which can affect bass performance. Of course, it's sometimes of a mystery exactly what size wire gauge you should use. If the manufacturer of the amp you're using specifies the minimum size gauge based on the length of the run then you're home free usually. Unfortunately most manufacturers leave out such information. It is possible to get copper wire as thick as 4 gauge, but unless you're powering a Tesla Coil I'd stay clear of it unless you're prepared to call in your local utility company to run it for you. In general, a 14 gauge size speaker wire is a good size to use for runs of 50 feet or less. Yes, you can use 14 gauge for longer runs if you want, but I'd suggest 12 gauge for runs over 50 feet. Typical 14 gauge speaker wire is rather thickly insulated and somewhat stiff to work with. And too often such wire is not marked with any polarity stripe to keep the positive and negative the same at both ends of the run when you hook up the speaker and amp. Sometimes, the insulation for one conductor will have a white stripe, but not always, or each bundle of the pair of wires will have a silver and gold coating to make it easier to see and use for the positive and negative connections. But in dimly lighted areas tinted wire still can be difficult to see. The installGear 14 Gauge solves both problems by being flexible, making it very easy to work with, and it's insulation is clearly color-coded so that you'll be certain to properly wire the positive and negative terminals at both the speakers and the amplifier. You really can't go wrong with this wire for speakers. TRistate, the vendo, got my order out to me in excellent time. 6/1/18 - Bought another 200 feet worth. It would be nice if this speaker wire came in moe than 100 feet rolls.

Not all wires are created equal
Very good quality. Easy to work with flexible. Hundred foot spool was more than enough for this project.
