Perfect for kids
I lbought this product for my grandchildren's first camping trip. They are 5 and 2. I wanted to make them feel like they were really camping and learn direction. In addition, the whisle is built in so they can always tell you where they are. ( two feet in front of me) I'm sure they will have with them.

It's so convenient having a compass, a whistle and a thermometer all in one and at an affordable price! Great for hiking, camping, or kayaking amid the mangroves.

My Girl Scouts adored this
I got these for my Brownie and Junior for their stockings and they love them to pieces. They must be in their camping kits, and they also use them for checking the temperature outside and playing pretend games.

Good whistle
This whistle is piercing as all hell. It makes my ears ring every time, which is awesome because I hike in woods where cougar encounters are a very real threat. You have to blow pretty hard. The one thing I really don't like about it is the magnifying glass does not come out very easily. I had to push it out with my pocket knife. The compass seems to work fine as well as the thermometer. "For kids" my butt, this whistle is great for more adult/dangerous adventures.

Smaller than I thought and not easy to take the magnify glass out. My childs review is it is cool and he loves it worked well for scouts bush walk

Bought as gifts for age 5-8 year grandkids learning to use a compass, about hiking safety and land navigation.

Great for the kids
Great product, got two of these for my kids ages 2 and 4 on a camping trip. The whistle works well and is not too loud. The kids liked having their own compass. Recommend for kids.
