Is it compatible with Canon 6d mark i

Yes I use it with my 6d mk1. It worked very well. I use it mostly in manual mode with the wireless tx unit. I have used it in TTL mode at a small society event. It worked very well. All round a great flash for the canon 6d mk1

Does this lock onto the Canon Hotshoe correctly as the Neewer one wouldn't lock

If you buy the canon version then yes it locks very securely in the hot shoe. I use it with a Canon 6D it preforms better than my Canon flash.
