Q: Can you use these without the machine?

This is a gorgeous folder . it !makes outstanding cards! I truly love it and it works great in my embossing machine.

Q: Can I use this with paint or ink on it like a stamp? To stamp it onto a card not emboss it.

Embossing folders do not have the flexibility that rubber or clear stamps have. You can braver ink on the raised areas of the design and then emboss it for a wonderful transfer of the design that will be dimensional with the embossing. The design will show up better (because of the ink) than it would with simply embossing. Some Stampers also try doing the negative of the design by instead applying ink to the other (flat or indented) sides of the folder.
