PRIMAL PIT PASTE Unscented Natural Deodorant Jar, 2 OZ

I am loving this stuff. After a week of use, I am so impressed that I just ordered ten more jars! It goes on clear, does't leave any residue or build up on my skin, and is VERY effective for controlling odor.I have a strong need for deodorant. Let me re-emphasize that point: I have really strong need for deodorant. Due to my work, I often go for extended periods without showering under high-stress situations. I need something that works to control odor for a long time with one application and/or doesn't cause unsightly or irritating build up over repeated applications. It also must be unscented. Over the years, I have tried many products to control body order: Crystal Stick, Crystal Roll-On, Tom's of Maine, and aluminum-based products like Dry Idea (72-hr antiperspirant), Degree, and Arm & Hammer. I found that Pit Paste works better than all of these. I am so glad my husband recommended it. He's a devoted Pit Paste user who has sensitive skin and sweats heavily. He reports that Pit Paste is a highly effective and non-irritating antiperspirant.Pit Paste absorbs quickly and leaves my underarms feeling extra soft - almost as if they were exfoliated. It leaves no residue on the skin. Just to reiterate the point: it even controls odor w/o washing. After a long shift, I reapply it and it immediately controls my underarm odor. I have never found any other product that can do that. If you are someone that has to apply deodorant multiple times per day, this might be a good option for you.I was initially put off by the texture and application method. Normally I prefer a clear gel. Pit Paste comes in a jar and is spread on. It has a cream-like texture that is a bit gritty, reminiscent of almond paste but more spreadable and drier. You rub it directly under the arms; a little goes a long way. A plastic applicator is included in the packaging. I found it be clumsy and redundant; spreading with the fingers works better for me.Other reviewers mentioned that the formulation has changed? I can't speak to that as I last purchased this from Amazon a year ago. However, on the company's website, they now advertise this product as available in three different levels. So if you are considering purchasing this product, I suggest you research what level might work best for you. Also, the website seems to run sales pretty regularly. So be sure to double check the pricing there. They do offer free shipping with a minimum purchase.

We like to find natural things to use on and around us but deodorant was a tough one to find. It was very difficult finding something that worked and didn't leave a rash behind. This stuff works like a charm and I can go 12 hours with no stink. It works on me and my wife. Keep in mind, this product takes time to work because your body needs time to adapt. There is also different levels you can buy that have less baking soda in it to ease yourself into it. I will say there is a 2 to 3 week period while your body adjusts but it is worth it. They have lots of tips on their website about how to get used to this stuff. I will say that my wife an I both sweat a lot at first but then after a few days our bodies started to naturally regulate themselves. All those years of clogging up our armpits took some time to reverse. It is natural to sweat a little bit but this stuff makes it so you don't stink.

I like this product although I think I would like it better if it was in a stick because using it in a paste is kind of a pain in the butt. I do think it does a good job on controlling odor and sweat..

I started using this prior to the packaging change and the product change. I have only used the unscented, and never experienced a a skin issue (my skin is somewhat sensitive to various things, but nowhere near the highly sensitive level that some people seem to be). The first jar I got after the update was grainy, but still usable. At least some of the Jars I have gotten after that are grainy too, but I think that is only on the top. It is a bit stiff, but that seems to be the right consistency for me to apply the right amount anyway. BTW the right amount seems to be just about as little as I can get it to spread around my armpit, so for me the jar is expensive, but lasts a long enough time to make it worth it. I use it in humid heat and dry cold, and I never stink by the end of a normal day.

I had purchased this product twice before at my local Co-Op who no longer carries it. The previous Unscented Primal Paste had a tan and yellow label and the product was so other as silk and worked great. The new product I purchased here has a blue label, and is not the same. The consistency is grainy and lumpy and hard to apply. Now I know why the Co-Op dropped Primal Pit Paste from its shelves. I won't purchase it again!

I thought I would be the only one leaving this review, but after some reading I see that other people have had the same concerns.The first jar I bought came in and the bottle was half full. I figured that maybe it was sold by weight and not volume, so I went with it. The texture was great, creamy and buttery and went on well. Right away I liked it better than the other deodorants I've used in the past. Since it came in half full it didn't take long to use it all up, so I ordered two more jars.When I opened the second jar I right away noticed that it was full to the top. Because of this I thought the first jar must have had an air bubble trapped in it or something, causing it to be half full. Not much I can do about it now so I just went with it. Right away though I noticed that something in the formula changed and the second jar is no longer creamy and buttery, but it's now pretty grainy. This makes it more difficult to apply. Instead of going on smoothly it now crumbles and pieces fall all over the counter and sink, even after I try and work it for a few seconds between my fingers. I've also noticed it's not working as well. The changed texture is not doing as much to prevent odors.I'm onto the third jar now and I'm sad to say it's the same as the second. The grainy texture, and this jar coming 2/3 full, is turning me off to the product. I had high hopes after the results of the fist jar (great texture, worked well), but after 2 of the 3 jars not being full (adds up when they're $12 each), the new texture and the lackluster results of the new texture, I'm not sure I want to keep giving this product any more chances.
