I purchased these to use for our front and back porch lights, and overall, I am pretty happy with them! The only "issue" I've run into with them is on days when it is a bit overcast, the one I installed in the front porch light fixture will sometimes come on during the day. However, the globe that covers that bulb is a pretty heavily frosted glass globe from the 1930s, so this makes sense and I can't fault the bulb for that! The one on the back porch is in an open fixture, upside down in the center of our small back "porch" (it's really more of a landing/stoop at the top of a half set of stairs that leads to our back door, but I digress...) and that one has been working flawlessly, even on overcast days. Either way, these bulbs have been fulfilling their purpose and making life just a little easier because it's one less thing I have to think about/remember. I can feel safer knowing that our front and back of the house is lit up when it is dark, without having to make sure I've flipped the switch on for them every night and then off again every morning. I just flip the switches to on and let the sun (or lack thereof) guide them. Love it!

I love that I don’t have to turn this on/off. In the winter it’s dark when I get home and since this comes on automatically at dusk, I no longer walk up to a dark house (since of course, I was the only one that turned the porch light on and off before). It doesn’t pay attention to time so DST doesn’t matter. Screw it in, turn it on, and forget about it. It’s also bright but not blinding. You can see but it doesn’t illuminate to the sidewalk. In fact, I switched it for a regular bulb for a minute and found that way too bright and switched back to this one. I will definitely purchase again when/if these die. I’m still on the first bulb and have been using it for at least a year.

I can’t believe how good these things actually work and they are far brighter than I thought they were going to be. I will 100% be buying these lights again.

I use this bulb in my front patio light/sconce. It is equal to or smaller than a conventional light bulb so it easily fits inside my light fixture. Unlike older bulbs that have internal photo-cell technology and have to be positioned facing a particular direction to operate properly, this bulb does not require that. It works just as I hoped it would regardless of its positioning. It comes on right at dusk and goes back of at first light of dawn. My light fixture is somewhat in a shaded area of the porch but it works perfectly. Sure beats trying to remember to turn a light switch on and off every day...just leave the switch on and let it do the work!

UPDATE. Lasted about 1.5 years, then flickering badly and worsening. Nice when they worked. Works great. Very bright. Almost too bright. Sconces at the garage turn on at dusk and off at dawn. I don't have to worry about a thing.

They work great. I like the clear ones because they give off more light.
