No. - I'll just cut to the point. The knife I received is absolutely flawless. The finish is perfect, the grinds are perfec,t the bevels are perfect, all the way round. I've never had knives come so sharp out of the box as the ones I've purchased from Cold Steel, and I think this one wins the prize. My securex sheath is also flawless- it has a very tight retention but is still pretty easy to push off with the thumb. The Ulti-clip that comes with it is strong as a tank. You clip this thing on and it's going to stay anywhere you put it. I read about the different color variants that came with this knife depending on the batch I've heard silver bronze or gray... Mine happens to be all black just like in the pictures, and it looks great. No matter what color, this is all the same steel and it is excellent, pure carbon steel. Read up on 52100. It rings like a tuning fork when you flick the blade... There's one important correction for Alexa, however. As she states that these knives are made in America, when in fact mine was made in Taiwan. And I am 100% A-Okay with that because Taiwan is where most of CS's very best knives come from. Oil it as soon as you get it, and always, to protect the fresh sharpened bevel from corrosion. Lastly, this thing is a really serious tool. It's made to be concealed and that means it's made so that nobody ever knows that you're carrying it. You could carry it around everyday, but it's not a user. Don't use this for normal everyday knife tasks, because you'll look like an ass for pulling it out and you'll probably cut yourself too. Review: Beautiful little boot knife - What an awesome little hunk of steel! I got it for a great price. It's the perfect size for concealment. It's not the most balanced as it's blade heavy. It feels indestructable. The sheath has perfect retention. I wouldn't hesitate to say, mount it upside down on a plate carrier. I can't speak to other reviewers, but my sample there's no way the knife would fall out. It's extremely sharp and I love the midnight blue-ish color. Everything screams quality. ## Features - CONCEALED CARRY KNIFE - Experience the epitome of stealth & performance with the Cold Steel Drop Forged Boot Knife, designed specifically for concealed carry; This premium tactical knife boasts a streamlined profile that allows for remarkable concealment - ROBUST BLADE - Constructed from 52100 High-Carbon steel, this knife features a 5" spear-point blade and a needle-sharp tip; With exceptional durability and sharpness, you can rely on this hunting knife to maintain its effectiveness when it matters most - HIGH PERFORMANCE - The Cold Steel Drop Forged Boot Knife is a powerful self-defense tool with a one-piece construction that ensures it won't "print" while the handle-heavy design delivers impressive piercing power, keeping you prepared for any situation - SECURE-EX SHEATH - Each Drop Forged Boot knife comes with a Secure-Ex sheath and an integral Ulti-Clip for reliable retention; Made in America from 1075 Spring Steel, the Ulti-Clip offers extremely secure retention and increased concealable potential - SPECS - Weight: 6.4oz; Blade Thickness: 4.5mm; Blade Length: 5"; Blade Steel: Drop Forged 52100 High Carbon; Handle Length: 4"; Overall Length: 9"; Knife Type: Fixed Blade; Length Range: 5+ in; Steel Family: High Carbon Steels; Blade Shape: Spear Point ## Technical Specifications | Specification | Value | |---------------|-------| | ASIN | B072187CSH | | Age Range (Description) | Adult | | Age Range Description | Adult | | Best Sellers Rank | #30,646 in Sports & Outdoors ( See Top 100 in Sports & Outdoors ) #54 in Fixed Blade Hunting Knives | | Blade Length | 5 inches | | Blade Material | High Carbon Steel | | Blade Shape | Spear Point | | Blade Type | double-edged | | Brand | Cold Steel | | Brand Name | Cold Steel | | Color | Boot Knife | | Customer Package Type | FFP | | Customer Reviews | 4.6 out of 5 stars 477 Reviews | | Global Trade Identification Number | 00705442016687 | | Hand Orientation | Ambidextrous | | Handle Material | Alloy Steel | | Included Components | Knife | | Item Length | 9 inches | | Item Shape | Rectangular | | Item Type Name | Fixed Knife | | Item Weight | 4.8 ounces | | Manufacturer | Cold Steel | | Model Name | Drop Forged Boot Knife | | Model Number | 36MB | | Number of Items | 1 | | Orientation | Upright | | Part Number | 36MB | | Power Source | hand_powered | | Product Care Instructions | Hand Wash Only | | Recommended Uses For Product | Bushcrafting, Camping, Fighting, Fishing, Hunting | | Reusability | Reusable | | Size | 5" | | Special Feature | Slim | | Special Features | Slim | | Style | Boot Knife | | Theme | Military | | UPC | 705442016687 | | Unit Count | 1 Count | | Warranty Description | Knives & Blades: We stand behind our products 100%. The handle inserts are extremely coarse β€” similar to 80 grit sandpaper, enabling a secure grip. **Q: How do you slide it on a belt. The clip doesn't work** A: It’s not meant to be s belt clip. Just a belt snap or pant snap. It’s primarily set up for a boot style clip to the top of the boot.... or just inside of the pants. Ulti clip is one of the best... for secure hold. Good luck. **Q: What kind of steel is this blade made from?** A: 52100 steel. It’s a high quality steel. Used for ball bearings. **Q: where is the knife made?** A: Mine say Taiwan printed on the blade ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ EDC, yeah. Everyday use? I got it for a great price. It's the perfect size for concealment. It's not the most balanced as it's blade heavy. It feels indestructable. The sheath has perfect retention. I wouldn't hesitate to say, mount it upside down on a plate carrier. I can't speak to other reviewers, but my sample there's no way the knife would fall out. It's extremely sharp and I love the midnight blue-ish color. Everything screams quality. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Good size and discreet *by V***A on February 2, 2024* I've been looking for a small, fixed blade, discreet knife, with a sheath, that I can put in my pocket when I walk. This knife fits the bill and fits in my sweatshirt pocket, vs. boot, quite nicely. I found the blade to be straight and sharp and didn't have any issues as mentioned in some other reviews. I like the finger guard on the knife handle which provides a firmer grip and safety in the event I actually have to use the knife. The clip on the sheath grips quite well and I had no problems with the knife falling out of the sheath or dragging on it per other reviews. For you girls out there, yes, this will firmly clip on the leg pocket of your yoga pants, but with the stretchiness of the fabric, you will not be able to easily extract the knife from the sheath if needed. I really like this knife and thought it was quite the bargain for the price point. It would make a good stocking stuffer and it's not just for the fellas. ## Frequently Bought Together - Cold Steel Drop Forged Boot 5" 52100 High-Carbon Steel Spear Point Fixed Blade EDC Concealed Carry Tactical Outdoor Hunting Knife, 4" Ergonomic Handle, Resistant Secure-Ex Sheath - Cold Steel Drop Forged Hunter 4" 52100 High-Carbon Steel Drop Point Fixed Blade Multi-Purpose Outdoor Game Hunting Utility Knife, 4-5/8" Handle, Weather-Resistant Secure-Ex Sheath - Cold Steel SRK 6" SK-5 Clip Point Razor-Sharp Blade 4.75" Durable Kray-Ex Handle Tactical Fixed Blade Knife w/Secure-Ex Sheath --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - πŸ›’ **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** β€” Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** β€” Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - πŸ’° **No Hidden Fees** β€” All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - πŸ”„ **15-Day Free Returns** β€” Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - πŸ”’ **Secure Payments** β€” Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** β€” Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.com.pa/products/44274704-cold-steel-drop-forged-boot-5-52100-high-carbon-steel](https://www.desertcart.com.pa/products/44274704-cold-steel-drop-forged-boot-5-52100-high-carbon-steel) --- *Product available on Desertcart Panama* *Store origin: PA* *Last updated: 2026-10-12*
