This is basically a handheld laser pointer with a tip that aligns with fibers, and let me tell you, if all you need to do is find faults and what goes where? this thing is perfect. My only complaint is that the LC Adapter doesn't sit sturdily on the tip, which means the beam can wander out of alignment. would buy again, would recommend, pick one up

I work for a telecommunications company, so this tool comes in very handy. Easy to use. It has a collar that rotates around the top so that it can protect the power switch from accidentally turning on.. Batteries are easy to change out if they start to corrode. Nice grip. I have used several times, no issues. I have the 30 km (18 mile) version. I recommend this item.

At first, the switch worked fine, but after just a few uses, I noticed it became harder to turn on and off. Sometimes, I had to press it multiple times before the laser would activate. Eventually, the switch stopped working entirely, rendering the device useless. This is unacceptable for a tool that professionals rely on.

Been using this at work and it seems to function well. I like how you can turn it so the switch doesn't get turned on when in a pocket or tool bag. Came with a spare ceramic insert that I was able to use to replace the cracked one on my fiber meter. Great product and great price.

I bought this VFL for its power switch cover. It rotates to completely cover the power switch to protect from accidental turn on and subsequent battery drain. This is a common problem with this style of cylinder VFL. The reason for 4 stars is because the other problem with this type of cylinder VFL is the aluminum body and threads. Repeated screwing of the base to remove or change batteries wears out the threads and then it will no longer hold tight. The first thing I do when I get these is to apply a lubricant to prolong the threads.

I work in a facility where there are no less than six different agencies sharing infrastructure, network racks, and data closets. Spread out across a facility taking two city blocks, lacking labelling or documentation and having a literal web of copper, fiber, and coax makes my job of tracking down anything quite the task. This saved hours of work for me, when we recently had to dual home seven new switches in this environment. The laser is powerful enough that you WILL see it on the other end, even in the worst conditions. The various connector types make sure that you're going to be able to use it on nearly any fiber you run across. Good product, I actually bought two.

Runs off disposable batteries

My husband bought this for work and was super happy this came with a replacement ceramic tip, since that was broken on his go-to tool. Now this is his new main go-to because he likes the new swivel feature around the switch and his old one which he was able to fix is his backup!

I used it to find which pair of fiber is which. Also great at finding broken fiber cables

Bought 2 and both still work well. Whilst quality isn't the best, still good value for money.

Doesn’t include the LC adapter as advertised. Had to urgently order the adapters separately
