It’s best to measure the opening on your tripod where the plate will sit and lock. You want it to be secure, not loose. 
The base dimensions are given for the part on the page but it’s a 1 3/4” square ( I measured mine) :-)

It depends, there are 3 different sizes of tripods that are labeled Sunpak 5858d (BAD IDEA Sunpak!) ** You will need to measure your tripod head. ** It will fit the Sunpak Platinum Plus 5858D 5858DLX Tripod (3rd Generation ONLY - Please measure carefully as there were 3 DIFFERENT models labeled 5858D and this quick release plate only fits the newest version UPC# 090729611410
