Review: Better than most - Bought in an emergency and arrived as promised the next day. I have 11 dogs all sleeping in xl crates, and this one surpasses them all. Very strong wires, not the usual thin stuff, well made, with a different type of lock to the usual. It also comes with a divider. It has the usual carrying handle, though, I can't imaging anyone lifting and moving an xl crate by the handle, especially one as heavy as this one, but it's there so that you can't say you haven't got one!! I prefer a metal tray, to the plastic tray supplied, but this looks sturdy enough. Easy to put up, with no sharp edges to cause injuries to man nor beast. For the price, you can't go wrong with this one. Review: Very Strong build quality and sprung secure door locks - Very strong much better quality mesh panels compared to more expensive crates, the locking door mechanism is spring loaded and very secure. Also comes with a divider to decrease the interior area for a puppy to use. I purchased the medium model and is a perfect size for a fully grown Scottish Terrier/ Westie sized adult. ## Features - Dog crate with double front and side door entry; designed with your pet's safety, security and comfort in mind - 56 cm indoor dog crate made of durable metal wire; divider, sturdy base tray and top handle included - Reliable manual locking mechanisms for safe and secure containment - Folds flat for easy portability and compact storage; removable plastic base tray for easy cleaning - Product dimensions: 56 x 33 x 40.6 cm (L x W x H) ## Technical Specifications | Specification | Value | |---------------|-------| | ASIN | B09G48J91Y | | Best Sellers Rank | 731 in Pet Supplies ( See Top 100 in Pet Supplies ) 1 in Basic Dog Crates | | Brand | Amazon Basics | | Brand Name | Amazon Basics | | Breed Recommendation | small / | | Colour | Black | | Country Of Origin | China | | Customer Reviews | 4.6 out of 5 stars 8,655 Reviews | | Dog Breed Size | Small | | Gap Size | 15 Millimeters | | Gap size | 15 Millimeters | | Included Components | Divider | | Item Dimensions L x W x H | 55.9L x 33W x 40.6H centimetres | | Item Weight | 4.81 kg | | Manufacturer | Amazon | | Manufacturer Part Number | 9001N-22B | | Material | Metal | | Material Type | Metal | | Model Name | Foldable Metal Wire Dog Crate with Tray, Double Door | | Model Number | 9001N-22B | | Number of Doors | 2 | | Number of Items | 1 | | Number of Levels | 1 | | Product dimensions | 55.9L x 33W x 40.6H centimetres | | Special Features | Durable, Foldable | | Special feature | Durable, Foldable | | Specific Uses For Product | Indoor | | Specific uses for product | Indoor | | Target Species | Dog | | UPC | 196433091439 | | Unit Count | 1 count | ## Product Details - **Brand:** Amazon Basics - **Gap size:** 15 Millimeters - **Material:** Metal - **Product dimensions:** 55.9L x 33W x 40.6H centimetres - **Specific uses for product:** Indoor ## Images ![Amazon Basics XS Metal Dog Crate/Cage with Tray, Durable and Foldable Dog Cage with Double Door, Black, Extra Small 56cm (22") - Image 1](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/81gt2S6ovCL.jpg) ## Available Options This product comes in different **Size, Style** options. ## Questions & Answers **Q: having trouble putting it up?** A: Yes had trouble it does not just unfold. Had to mess around unhooking all hooks because they wouldn't let you unfold it like it said it should. **Q: Does the plastic tray slide out while in use or is there something to hold it in place? My large pup moves around a lot.** A: The tray will not slide out, it is actually in the crate but can be removed. **Q: Missing divider? Mine was missing the divider? What do I do???** A: I would let the company know that it never came with it **Q: I’ve assembled it in a spot too small to get into the room it needs to be in, how does it fold down?!** A: Start at the hinges on the top side of the crate. I think u have to push apart of the crate down for the hingest to bend. ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Better than most *by K***R on 3 November 2025* Bought in an emergency and arrived as promised the next day. Also comes with a divider to decrease the interior area for a puppy to use. I purchased the medium model and is a perfect size for a fully grown Scottish Terrier/ Westie sized adult. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Fantastic crate with dual entry *by B***L on 30 December 2024* This is a great crate. The build quality is sturdy and the size works well for our Staffordshire terrier giving plenty of room to lie down and turn around. Having doors placed both as the end and at the side leaves good options when deciding where to place the create for easy access. It is nice and light but still very strong, I am able to lift and move it without much trouble to clean it. The removable tray simply slides out from one side for an easy clean. Comfort level is fine with or without additional cushioning because the plastic tray doesn’t get cold and the mechanism to secure the doors is better than our previous crate from a well know pet shop. I have yet to encounter a pet shop wore crate that opens and closes as easily and securely as this one. I would definitely recommend and found this good value for money when comparing to previous crate purchases. ## Frequently Bought Together - Amazon Basics - Durable,Foldable Metal Wire Dog Crate with Tray, Double Door, Divider, 22 x 13 x 16 Inches, Black - MidWest Homes for Pets Deluxe Dog Beds | Super Plush Dog & Cat Beds Ideal for Dog Crates | Machine Wash & Dryer Friendly, 1-Year Warranty,Gray - MidWest Homes for Pets Dog Crate Cover, Privacy Dog Crate Cover Fits MidWest Dog Crates, Crate Cover Only, Machine Wash & Dry, Black, 22-Inch --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.com.pa/products/446471420-amazon-basics-xs-metal-dog-crate-cage-with-tray-durable](https://www.desertcart.com.pa/products/446471420-amazon-basics-xs-metal-dog-crate-cage-with-tray-durable) --- *Product available on Desertcart Panama* *Store origin: PA* *Last updated: 2026-10-28*
