The moisture data of soil is measured by the sensor probe. **Q: i need to monitor the moisture content of 12 plants in 10 gallon indoor pots what would I order? " the gateway says it only supports 8** A: I have tried 4 or 5 brands over the years, these work the best. Adding them to the gateway is not very straight forward though and they lose the friendly name you give them regularly. I had to actually write on the sensors with a sharpie of their assigned location, so I could remember each season, rather than starting over with a full reset each season. They also stay connected at a decent distance, which most other brands don't do. **Q: do you leave it in the ground or just insert it to get a reading** A: I do not leave it in the ground. I insert into the ground as required, take the reading and remove from the ground immediately **Q: How many WH51 sensors can the WH0291 monitor support? I think it's a 1 to 1 relationship?** A: The picture is of the base station that I have personally six sensors on currently, but I also have the monitor and the monitor only works with one sensor ## Frequently Bought Together - Ecowitt GW1106 Soil Moisture Meter Kit, Includes GW1100 Wi-Fi Gateway and WH51 Soil Moisture Sensor, 915 MHz - ECOWITT WH51L Soil Moisture Sensor with 1m/3.28ft PVC Wire Probe, LCD Display, Needs to Pair with Wi-Fi Gateway, 915 MHz - ECOWITT Wi-Fi Gateway Weather Station, with Built-in Temperature, Humidity, and Barometric Sensors, IOT Ready, Supports Ecowitt Sensors Developed, USB Power, 915 MHz --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.com.pa/products/448297933-ecowitt-gw1106-soil-moisture-meter-kit-includes-gw1100-wi-fi](https://www.desertcart.com.pa/products/448297933-ecowitt-gw1106-soil-moisture-meter-kit-includes-gw1100-wi-fi) --- *Product available on Desertcart Panama* *Store origin: PA* *Last updated: 2026-10-04*
