Lubegard Bio/Tech Engine Oil Protectant may have saved the day!
I have been a user of Lubegard Red transmission additive for many years, so I decided to try the Bio/Tech Engine Oil Protectant for the first time.I added it to the engine in my wife's 2011 Toyota Sienna when I did a recent oil change at 100k miles. This van has the 3.5L 2GR-FE V6, and I've done 10k mile oil changes using 0w-20 full synthetic since new. The engine has always been reliable and uses no oil between changes.About 1,000 miles after this oil change my wife pulled into the driveway and I see a long trail of motor oil being left on the pavement behind her. I check the oil and there is nothing showing on the dipstick. My wife claimed that the oil pressure warning light never came on and that the engine sounded normal.I crawled underneath and determined that a rubber hose between the engine and the oil cooler had developed a pinhole leak which had coated the entire undercarriage with motor oil. I had the van towed to a Toyota dealer and they said that this is a fairly common problem with the 2GR-FE of that era, and that Toyota had updated the part with steel hard lines. This hose repair was completely covered by an extended warranty on that part with no cost to me.The best part is that the engine seems to have survived the oil leak unscathed. I don't know how much motor oil was still left in the engine, but there was a lot of it on the ground. The engine runs and sounds exactly the same as before. Now I can't say for sure that using the Lubegard additive prevented a tragedy in this case, but I do believe that it helped to keep the engine protected during this oil loss problem. I will continue using this Lubegard product in all of my engines from now on for the peace of mind that it brings.Update 05/01/23: I just did the 130k mile oil change on this van and the engine is still running great! Of course, I put in the Lubegard Bio/Tech additive like always. It is a great product and I now use it in all of my engines. I've found that it is cheapest on Amazon in the 32-ounce size and have been buying that recently.Update 08/12/24: The Sienna recently had another oil change at 150k miles and everything is still just fine. The engine runs smoothly and uses no oil between 10k changes. I'm continuing to use the Bio/Tech even though the price has increased (like everything else). By doing my own oil changes I save enough to offset spending more for such a great product.Update 04/08/26: I just completed the 170k mile oil change (still 10k intervals) and everything is perfect. This 3.5L V6 is an amazing engine and still runs like new. It doesn't use any oil between changes and doesn't leak any oil either. I'm still using the Lubegard additive and have just purchased some more. It's nice to see that the price has come down somewhat. I really wish Toyota still offered this V6 engine in their new vehicles. Our 2024 Grand Highlander has the 2.4L four-cylinder turbo, which has adequate power, but it's not in the same league as the 2GR-FE as far as being smooth and quiet. Folks, the bottom line is I still highly recommend the Lubegard Bio/Tech because it is a fantastic product!! Thanks for reading.

Anything LubeGard is very good. I have been using their products for years!!!
Anything LubeGard is very good. I have been using their products for years!!! I also use the trans fluid and fuel treatment. I know it cost more than other products, but it is very good. You get what you pay for. It works. It makes my engine quieter and more gas mileage. It keeps the oil cleaner. I highly recommend this.

Amazing product
I wanted to get on here and write a review for a product and brand that has literally changed the quality and sound of my engine and transmission.. lubegard is the real deal. . Every time i add this to my vehicle, whether it be biotech in my engine, or lubegard red and shudder fix in my transmission, my car just takes a big breath of fresh air and delivers unbeatable performance. I have an 02 toyota solara sle v6 with 188k miles, previous owners neglected the fluids. Ive slowly restored this ride and this product in general has been a big piece in the puzzle.. buy it, this stuff is not a gimmick

Actual, scientificially backed, Synthetic wax ester technology. Fantastic cold-start protection!
I'm a huge fan of science and NOT a fan of virtually every other oil additive being sold today (excluding Liqui-Moly products). I choose to use top-quality synthetic engine oils (Pennzoil Platinum, PP High Mileage, and Pennz Ultra Platinum being my favorites) and I want to plainly state that there is virtually nothing that can be added to these oils that has not already been carefully included by the engineers at Pennzoil (SOPUS). However, this Lubeguard with synthetic LXE tech, is the "virtually"...the true exception.Synthetic wax esters are a specific type of wax ester that has a natural affinity for metal, on the molecular level. It literally binds itself to the surface of metal inside your engine, forming a boundary layer of lubrication that does not run off. However, the layer of molecules is so thin, that it will not interfere with any kind of engine mechanism...even the most finicky of oil-pressure-driven variable valve timing systems...unlike most other additives which hold solid particles in suspension (like PTFE, etc.). Many manufacturer-provided esoteric synthetic engine oils (like Nissan, for their GTR), use this exact same technology to provide cold-start (and high-heat/hard use) lubrication to the turbos and intricate valvetrains of the twin turbo V6 in the newest-generation GTR. But that oil is over $13 PER QUART.The Lubeguard additive provides a real scientific, tangible benefit to your engine: this self-bonding synthetic liquid wax ester fluid. So, what does this mean? It means your roller rockers and everything in your valvetrain remain lubricated no matter how cold it is and no matter how long the car has sat un-used (I have a 2011 outback that gets used once per week and this, alone, is an enormous benefit). It means the inherent Extreme Pressure qualities that the wax ester film has is going to reduce cylinder wall scuffing, cam lobe wear, etc.The biggest benefit I've seen is during cold starts...the engine doesn't rev as high, drops to std idle speed much sooner, the engine is far quieter, and there is no valve noise. Seeing that around 90% of engine wear occurs within 60 seconds of startup over the lifetime of an engine (i.e. before the oil has had a chance to be pumped around the engine), this product offers an enormous, tangible benefit.Other wear reduction benefits aside (and reduced wear ALL the time is indeed a true benefit), the cold start benefits are just huge. And I noticed a significantly better startup on an 85 degree Florida day in my 3.6 H6 engine that already has a Fram Ultra filter and Pennzoil Platinum....it already ran like a sewing machine. I cannot imagine the improvement in temps below 50 degrees F.With Amazon's permission, a primer on LXE synthetic wax ester technology, its benefits, and its origins from the Lubeguard website (all lubeguard products are available HERE on Amazon for less than virtually anywhere else):[...]

It Leaked, but still great
So this is one of two additives that a well respected oil guy recommends. It can actually provide the additives that are lacking in modern oils that in many cases actually cures ticks and engines knocks, depending on the nature of those ticks. This product is loaded with EP additives, which when you have metal out of tolerances the engine provides the conditions needed for the EP additives to plate. It is science, not hype. Many engine run quieter, that is why. The best part is the moly is the latest moly that is oil soluble, so this becomes part of the oil and not just suspended in the oil like other moly, of course in those additives the moly can fall out of suspension and cause issues. So I knocked a star off because it leaked, like several ounces, but I'm still keeping it.

really great product, minimal investment
my transmission mechanic recommended lubegard trans products when i was experiencing trans slips in my civic at 130k miles. my car now has 252k miles and lubegard dramatically improved my situation where i now don't experience any more trans slips.since i was so thrilled and impressed with their trans products, i decided to try their oil additive. i used to be a lucas guy, which seemed to be fine but i think this works even better. my car runs SO SMOOTH after an oil change. i contacted the company about how much should be added and they said 3 ounces per quart. my civic takes 4 quarts, so i have my mechanic add 12 ounces of lubegard.i do a ton of stop and go driving doing deliveries and like i said, my car has 252k miles and still runs really well. i truly feel lubegard has a lot to do with it. it's a very minimal investment and i've been really happy with it. i truly feel it's helped extend the life of my car.

Wundermittel?

Pricey but helps with the Hemi tick
2011 Dodge Ram 1500 w/ 5.7L Hemi.Quieted the Hemi tick pretty much immediately. No long mileage review (<100 km) yet but I bought another bottle for my 19 Highlander. For the next oil change.I suggest running Sea Foam through the crankcase 200 to 300 miles prior to the next oil change on your gas engine. This will clean out some gunk, varnish and any particles can get trapped in the old filter. Just don't go past your oil change interval you don't want to run with a clogged/plugged oil filter.I just heard about this stuff and I think it will help with engine wear too. Not sure about better mileage yet and I won't extend my oil change interval as it isn't worth it to me. This bottle is cheap insurance vs an engine rebuild. There are good YouTube videos that show how well this stuff works.I just wish pricing was similar to US pricing as it seems to be much more expensive here in the Great White North (like double).

Engine should come standard with this stuff
My engine's power increased by 350%. The Camry now has 540hp. At the same time my mileage went from 32 miles/gallon to 56 miles/gallon. Incredible stuff.

Recommended to those who want to keep their vehicles long term!
Another great product by lubegard. This one really works long term. I use a little portion at every oil change on my mustang. Over 500k km and no issues and no overhauls or leaking gaskets! They do make another version of this product for turbocharged engines.
