Bought it
Speaker rankings .com sent me here because they rated this #1 even over some top brands. I don't their methodology but it was on discount and I bought it.Out of the box it's "okay" but I did download the software and set the sound to my liking and honestly for the price I can see why the ratings were high. Soundcore motion 300 was ranked 2nd and out of the box I like that one. I kept them both lol 😂But yeah. Depending on your music taste. I leave this one in the bathroom and I can say it worth every penny.

Bought two, planning to purchase additional two.
Great, clear, balanced sound. Definitely recommend getting two and listening in TWS mode. If you appreciate transparency and balance, this is the Bluetooth speaker I was happy with. Nice steady even bass notes, not overly boomy, crisp detail in highs and solid mid range tone. Great compact size for desktop use at work. Fits on the base of my 24" monitors. Replaced Bose Soundlink Mini 2 purchased 10 years ago. Easy to set up and use, definitely recommend using manufacturer app for additional functionality including pro-tuned EQ presets. Sound and product quality punches above its weight class at its price point. Initially bought two to split, but I was so happy with TWS mode, I decided to keep at work full time and will likely order another set of two for the shower at home. No notes on range or water resistance due to use case.

Great Full Sound
This item produces a great full sound for the price. Excellent. However, very difficult to see the buttons on the top.

Great Unit - Good value - Not for Everyone
I over-research stuff, yet reading reviews is maddening. You think you've found a good item, and then you read the 1-star reviews. Well, to cut to the chase, I wasn't going to spend this much money (even w/coupon) and was going to get a ~$20 unit. I've got "real speakers" all over the house and back yard, so this is just for portability. Anyway, I took the plunge on this one based on everything I could put together from Reddit, enthusiast publications, and these reviews. I'm glad I did. Fakespot pans the review quality here, but I ain't no 'bot, so here's a short story:- Build quality is solid (see teardown videos on Youtube/unit has some heft/even the packaging is nice)- Sound quality is really good (subjective I know, but there's some Youtube comparisons out there and you can geek out on frequency response charts on Reddit)Cons: If you want the best sound out of it, re-flash the firmware down one revision. Not that the firmware it's now shipped with is bad (v5.0), but the last version (v4.8) has more neutral frequency response. You can find the charts if you want to deep dive. Well, you have to geek out a bit if you're going to flash firmware. It's not hard, and you can find everything you need by searching for "Earfun Uboom L" and spending a little time. I just reflashed the firmware on mine from 5.0 to 4.8 and it didn't take very long at all. YMMV. The only other thing I might note is the control buttons aren't illuminated or even painted. The on/off, bluetooth, volume, etc. buttons are embossed black rubber...not a visual standout so you may be getting close to the unit to read them until you're familiar with it. Lastly, there's no carry lanyard or some such if that is a factor in your search. All in all, I think this thing puts out excellent sound for the money. It's definitely in a whole different league from the $20 units I was looking at. But! (There's always a "but" isn't there?), if you're hung up on the firmware thing - specifically if you don't think it sounds as good with v5.0 that is loaded currently, AND messing w/computers, utility programs, and cables is not for you, then you might want to spend more bucks (maybe double?) on another unit. As noted, you can find the instructions on line and see if you'd want to do it. Sorry for not putting links to all these references, but I found 'em pretty quickly so if you're interested, you won't have a problem finding more info than you'll need.As noted, I'm quite happy with it despite the caveats. I have zero buyer's remorse on this one.And as for the quality of product reviews, if I were a 'bot, would I know who won the 1938 World Series? Oh wait, that's the question they ask in those bad WWII movies to find the spy...

Disappointing tech functionality / design
The speaker just suddenly shuts off instead of providing any kind of low battery warning. Also it is delayed by several (4-5?) seconds when connecting to the phone, unlike my Tribit speakers and other brand headphones. And the icing on the cake is that to turn on video mode (to keep audio in synch with video) you double press the bluetooth button. Fine except that I also bought the larger UBoom X speaker -- on that one you have to press and hold the bluetooth button for the video mode. You can imagine how infuriating it is to be starting to watch a TV show, try to change to video mode and do the double click when you should have done the long press and have the speaker disconnect completely from the TV. Why on earth would the functionality of the same set of buttons be flipped on two different models of the same product.I love my two Tribit XSoundGo speakers and regret not sticking with that brand, though I haven't tried their larger speakers.

Great portable speaker with very good audio quality
I've researched a lot about portable wireless speakers before making a purchase. I was expecting to get the speakers and roll back the firmware myself to get the best tune, however, the speakers came with the firmware version that you would want out of the box. I bought 2 and both have the correct firmware. My car speakers are blown and I don't want to fix it so I bought these. In the car, they sounds so good. The great thing about this speaker is that it doesn't matter which volume you put it at, it all sound the same. It doesn't lose any quality at max volume. The speakers have 2 modes to use when 2 speakers are connected, you can use it in stereo (sounds perfect when you space the two speakers out and it point at you) or you can use it in mono, meaning both speakers put out the same sound instead of left/right.If you watch a lot of videos, there is a low latency mode, but it only work with 1 speaker. You can't use low latency with both speakers connected. The delay is noticeable when watching video without low latency mode. The app is pretty useful, you can switch the eq to whatever you like but the Oluv eq is the best for the speaker. Outdoor mode if you want it a bit louder and more bass. You may not like this, but the speaker will make the sound sounds exactly how the song creator want it to be without the overwhelm bass that some speakers will have.
