The Radeon HD 5450 works flawlessly with Ubuntu Linux and probably most modern Linux distributions because the kernel has native support for the AMD chipset. The highest resolution is 1920 x 1200, but I'm running the more common 1920 x 1080 at 60 Hz. There is the option for a regular sized back plate with all three video ports (DVI, HDMI and VGA) but there are two shorter back plates for mini AT cases, with DVI and HDMI on the card's back plate and a separate back plate to install in the adjacent slot that has a VGA port that's connected to the board via a ribbon cable. I'm using the HDMI port and it was plug and play easy. The video processing is faster than the older Nvidia card that it replaced. Review: Works well - I got this to be able to do Steam gaming on my fairly-old e-machine. It is working perfectly. The instructions for it were awful, and I ended up tearing something up on the back of my computer that, with better directions, I wouldn’t have needed to. But I turned off my computer, figured out how to get it put into my slim profile machine, turned the computer back on. Now, I had to manually make my computer search and find new hardware. Then once it did, it now works flawlessly. The Steam games work great. Good investment. ## Features - 【2GB GDDR3 Memory】AMD Radeon HD 5450 graphics card is with 650MHz core frequency, up to 1066MHz memory speed,80 Stream Processors, perfect for working, video and photo editing, allows good fluency, which can effectively meet your needs. - 【Low Profile Design】The computer graphics cards is small in size, saves more space and plug and play.Small Form Factor design fits in today’s low profile desktops and workstations (with half height bracket). - 【Multi-monitor Support】Supports up to two monitors for the video card including DVI,VGA,HDMI, and for flexibility of use(the VGA Interface is removable),This low profile, low power consumption card will improve multimedia performance, extend the desktop, and accelerate apps. - 【Fanless Design for Zero Noise】The HD 5450 is a budget video card with silent passive fanless cooling system.Using high performance heatsinks,it is small enough to provide fanless operation and comfortable to use with zero noise. - 【Independently Power】No external power supply, about 19W full-load power consumption.Works with Windows 10 as well as 7, 8 and 8.1(NOT compatible with windows 11). ## Technical Specifications | Specification | Value | |---------------|-------| | ASIN | B0B3RKZFLM | | Antenna Location | Office, Professional | | Best Sellers Rank | #389 in Computer Graphics Cards | | Brand | QTHREE | | Built-In Media | 1x HD 5450 graphics card, 1x manual, 2x low profile bracket | | Compatible Devices | Desktop | | Customer Reviews | 4.2 out of 5 stars 239 Reviews | | Display Maximum Resolution | 1920x1080 | | Display Resolution Maximum | 1920x1080 | | GPU Clock Speed | 650 megahertz | | Graphics Card Interface | PCI-Express x16 | | Graphics Card Ram | 2 | | Graphics Coprocessor | Radeon HD 5450 | | Graphics Description | Radeon HD 5450, 2GB GDDR3, 650MHz Core, 1066MHz Memory, 80 Stream Processors | | Graphics Processor Manufacturer | AMD | | Graphics Ram Size | 2 | | Graphics Ram Type | GDDR3 | | Item Highlight | Low Profile Video Card for PC Office Work,Computer GPU,PCI Express x16 ,DirectX 11,2 Monitors Support | | Manufacturer | QTHREE | | Memory Clock Speed | 533 MHz | | Mfr Part Number | Radeon HD 5450 | | Model Name | HD 5450 Graphics Card | | Model Number | HD 5450 | | Number of Items | 1 | | Video Output Interface | DVI, HDMI, VGA | | Video Processor | AMD | ## Product Details - **Brand:** QTHREE - **GPU Clock Speed:** 650 megahertz - **Graphics Coprocessor:** Radeon HD 5450 - **Graphics Ram Size:** 2 - **Video Output Interface:** DVI, HDMI, VGA ## Images ![HD 5450 - Image 1](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/613D6FCkwlL.jpg) ![HD 5450 - Image 2](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/71UqIU31utL.jpg) ![HD 5450 - Image 3](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/71zfXYJQ5RL.jpg) ![HD 5450 - Image 4](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/71Q5iFm+RYL.jpg) ![HD 5450 - Image 5](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/71BBjDlhXSL.jpg) ## Questions & Answers **Q: I see in the description it says “[independently power】no external power supply. does this mean all i have to do is plug it into the motherboard?** A: Yes no separate power needed just plug it into pci express slot and ur good to go **Q: do this card works with linux** A: Yes,this card can work with linux x86,you need to update the driver before.Minimum recommended power supply 450W power supply or greater. **Q: What is the card’s dimensions?** A: The card’s dimensions is 16x12x2cm/6.3x4.72x0.78in,it has low profile bracket, fits sff/slim case. ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Native Support With Ubuntu Linux *by L***R on December 5, 2024* The Nvidia card in my old workstation required installing a driver which made upgrading to a new version of Linux problematic.
