Do not buy from Amazon
Hi everyone, UNT Percussionist here. I love the Paul Rennick stick. Often times at school, we go into his office and ask for a pair of sticks from the box that Professor Rennick has next to his door. One of my favorite pairs of sticks of all time, hands down, being unbiased as possible. I’m picky too. Being away from school right now, I don’t have the chance to do such, and being that I received an Amazon gift card for Christmas, I wanted to put it to good use. I ordered several pairs of the FS-PR2’s and what I received in the mail shocked me. The sticks were weighted completely different than one another, and the wood gives two different tones on each stick. The sticks are basically useless. I intend on using them for click sticks now. Often times at conventions or competitions, Innovative or Lonestar will set up a bucket full of these PR2’s that are discards from the factory process, for example, sticks that have two tones, and are bent like banana’s, etc. They will sell a pair for $5 if you can find ones that are pitch matched, but that’s the thing; you almost never will, or, you’ll think you did, but you didn’t hit the stick from the other side, and hear the other tone it produces. It almost seems like every time I buy FS-PR2’s from Amazon, the quality is just that: sticks from a discard stack being sold to customers on Amazon who sometimes are ACTUALLY studying classical music, and know exactly what is going on. This is disappointing. I’d really like to see a change in this. I get it, it’s Amazon. You’re not promised the most dense and high pitched sticks ever, but I’d at least like to be able to use them for practice. Please do better.

Junk Sticks
These were recommended to me so I bought 4 pair as there is a show is coming up and I wanted to be sure my son had practice sticks and a show set with drop sticks. (He plays snare in a top ranked high school band.) The 4 pair are not at all evenly weighted...even the ones in the same package! They are splintery and you can hear a distinct difference in the sound quality when using them. I DO NOT recommend these at all.
